Well, it's free! That was the best part. Otherwise, the museum is very small and has 3 sections to walk through. One is about tattoos, one is boot camp and the last was life on a ship which was the coolest part in my opinion.
Was here for for son’s Boot Camp Graduation. As a Navy Veteran who graduated from Great Lakes 30 years ago, my family and I walk thru and had a great time. My wife and youngest son were amazed with the entire museum! We did take a guided tour and loved it. Got to talk to some Shipmates and traded war stories while waiting on our newest Sailor. There was no wait, no tickets and it is completely free. Everyone was great and helpful! If you want a little history and see how Sailors lived and some traditions; go and enjoy.
Really an incredible museum, especially since I went to Boot Camp here at NTC Great Lakes over 30 years ago. Super thankful for the experience. Brought back lots of memories. Staff is exceptionally friendly and professional as well. It's obvious they take great pride in their exhibits. Even managed to watch a live stream of a graduation which was taking place only a few hundred yards away.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great information. A wonderful place to learn the story of our nation's Navy and increase your appreciation for the valiant men and women who have served and are currently serving. I highly recommend a visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

We had a great time walking through and getting some great pictures after my daughter graduated from navy bootcamp
Excellent museum to learn about the history of the American Naval Sailor throughout history! The curator and volunteers gave excellent explanations and stories of the Navy during our field trip. The exhibits were well done and provided our students with a peek inside the life of a sailor from the 1800s to today. I highly recommend a visit for families and students! We will definitely be back to visit!
Cute little museum with good information about U.S. Navy History. Friendly military personel at the 'Welcome' office.
My son in law graduated Navy boot camp and we were here to pick him up.Visited onWeekend
