Brought my friend from the UK as she loves trains. I think this was the high point of her visit. She was smiling the whole time. We took the ride around the park so got to learn a bit more history that way. So many trains to look at! This was a great place to visit. They even have a train themed playground for the kids if they need a break. You can actually go on many of the trains and really explore.
A very nice museum with a great train ride around the grounds. Limited displays but many of the actual train cars are open for inspection. You can really see the impact of 50 years of equipment with a side by side comparison of a 1918 to 1940 to 1950 locomotive in the same barn. The "Eisenhower Train" used in WW2 is restored and is just beautiful. A "Pulman" car is also restored and the detail is beautiful. Easy to walk around with plenty of activities for small children from the hands on area and the train sandbox outside.
A wonderful location full of historic railroad equipment. Real trains, small trains, toys, interactive stations for kids and adults alike. I went with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time. It's great for families too! I can't wait to return again?Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entryFree
I loved it! Beautiful museum, it was so cool being able to go inside all the different types of trains from all different eras throughout time and history. The train ride was also very fun and informational. There is also a cute little yellow building for cute hands on things for the little ones. I would definitely come back. Also, a great place for weddings and family functions.
Great experience for kids and fans of trains. There were a lot of Eagle Scout projects on site too which was cool to see. From out of town and glad we stopped. We were able to almost everything within 90 minutesVisited onPublic holidayWait timeNo wait

This place has an impressive gift shop. The staff was informational and friendly. There is a separate building for kids to explore-no charge. Also a small charge for an informational train ride around the museum. We had a great time.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
The museum itself would have been great. Would. Because an annoying wedding party - which wasn't announced at the ticket counter !!! - litteraly destroyed the visit. Screaming kids, "fancy" adults who stood in the way and you couldn't see what you wanted to see. Taking pictures was a challenge. Loud music. Loud talking. That's not what I expect from a museum. Please for gods sake inform the people at the entrance that there is a private event going on! If I would have known that I wouldn't have entered. Staff 1 star. Display of trains 3 stars some trains where just parked there with 300 signs not to step on them or to sit somewhere why do you display them??. Wedding party -100 stars. I left after an hour because I was fed up. There are much nicer train museums. NOT RECOMMENDED espescially if there is a private event going on.
One of the weirdest collection you can find in the US. Some very interesting locomotives and wagons of the past years. The details found in the inscriptions are effective and explains a lot about the origin of few past railroad projects. The experience is pleasant and requires the right amount of time you want to spend in a place like this about 2 hours. Some of the wagons require some refurbishments as there were some dirty and badly kept. Locomotives are in great shape instead. You can do a quick ride on a newer diesel train. Not really sure it is worth to pollute and keep a giant diesel engine running just for a couple or rounds of the premises.
The museum has a lot of exhibits, most trains you'll be able to tour. They also have a train ride that loops the museum twice.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
