The owners who are pretty great btw of this campground are making lots of updates and maintain the grounds nicely too. There's lots of fun things scheduled on the weekends, fishing lakes, splash pad, basketball etc. We didn't love our lot close to the road and steep but there are tons of amazing lots in the campground ... and we'd love to come back and enjoy one of those!
You can't tell the owners care about this campground, everything is clean and well maintained. There are about 80 sites mostly level, some in the open others on the lake and others well shaded under 80 foot white oak trees. There is catch and release fishing on the lake. We stayed one night passing through the area, when were come back we'll be sure to stay again for at least 3 days.
Outstanding campground based on a fairly large comparison pool of locations I’ve stayed. Owners are extremely attentive to their guests as well as their facility. The pride of their ownership can be seen throughout the grounds. Well kept amenities including bath houses, laundry, supplies and ice for sale in the office, etc. I will keep coming back for as long as possible. BUT, wifi available only near the office. A good wifi extender covering the grounds would be very welcome. Oh, and I do wish their were mirrors. At least I. The men’s bath house. I prefer to shave with one.
Where to start….. well It’s a campground. ‍ here’s my recap. got in on a Thursday night, price was flat unless you used card then add 3% to that price. The sites are not very good, on steep slops and very tight, trees are close and muddy when it rains. There does appear to be all new electrical, water and sewer lines. The sewer lines ran up hill from your camper to the hook up in the ground and we’re not very gravity drained, the electrical was 20+ foot from the usual spot, it’s toward the front of the site. Sewer was in the middle with the water supply. Friday morning woke up by 2 seasonal campers dogs barking and another seasonal power washing their massive rv, golf cart, truck and deck! Literally from 9 am to 11:30 we heard a power washer running. Friday night here comes the weekenders, Loud, drunk, left firs smoldering to choke us out all night, no respect for other campers just way noisy. Oh and the seasonals like to jam their music loud also. Saturday morning comes and again the dogs barking all morning, Saturday evening live band for about 4 hours, nice but our kind of music, the other campers seemed to like it, they were dancing up at the show and stuff. Saturday night kids running around screaming all afternoon for hours, dogs barking. Sunday morning, dogs barking, weekenders left, now for quite time, minus the dogs. Sunday night, pretty peaceful, and quite minus a seasonals loud music. Monday morning time to leave, thankfully the neighbor across from us was gone or we would not have gotten out of our spot. To tight for a 32’ travel trailer. Overall showers were pretty sloppy, plumbing was made up, toilets were low to the floor and only 2 with raggedy stall doors. Wayyyy to may speed bumps!!!!! Seen no one from the staff the entire stay. Fire ring was half full of ashes. No pool but has a small splash pad. This was not our first choice, we called Wolfies and they were booked, been to Dillon 1,000 times and could not get a full hook up so we went here mainly for the full hook ups. Now we stayed a couple times on the past 4 years, once for 1 night and once for 2 nights. Never this annoying before. Not sure if management or ownership changed but unless we’re desperate we will not stay here again. I mean it’s not terrible but they can better about keeping their seasonals in check for noise.
very pretty campground. only stayed overnight for quick shower - which needs some sprucing up esp the shower heads which only squirt out a little tiny spray. And walkway around restroom have uneven concrete which is tripping hazard. that said i would stay there again as it is convenient to hwy. very nice spots clean! camp host were super nice and helpful
We love this campground! When we are looking for a place to stay for an extended period there are several things we take into consideration. Location. Atmosphere. Amenities. But probably the most important is the camp management. And this is where NRC really shines. The daughter/father team that recently purchased the campground have made it an absolute pleasure to stay here. They work tirelessly to improve the campground and are committed to providing a safe, fun, family friendly camping experience. The campground is conveniently located just east of Zanesville, Ohio - just minutes off of I70. It is just off the “National Road”, minutes from Zanesville, “Pottery Capital of the World,” and the Wilds animal adventure park. Columbus, home of The Ohio State Buckeyes is just an hour away. The campground features rolling hills, two stocked ponds and plenty of shade trees in a true park-like setting. Sites accommodate all types of camping from motor coach to tent. There are also several cabins of various sizes available. Amenities include: camp store, coin laundry, play grounds, corn hole, volleyball court, fishing ponds, sun deck, dump stations and recreation room. The owners also have special events on a regular basis, such as live bands, DJs, and stand up comedians. The park gets full on weekends, but is pretty quiet during the week. Overall it has a very quiet, safe, comfortable, family friendly vibe. Sites are available by day, week or month and seasonal sites are also available the park does close for the winter season. There is no cable or park wide WiFi, but free WiFi is available at the camp office/store. We had decent Verizon and Sprint mobile coverage. Local NBC is available if you have an HD antenna. We stayed for 2 months and were very sad when it was time for us to move on. We would definitely stay again if in the area, and highly recommend you check it out!
I wish I could leave 10 stars. They deserve it. I’ve never been to a campground that has been so accommodating to their guest. It seems to be a family run business and it shows. They care about everything, from the ridiculously clean bath houses, to the beautiful campsites, all the way to the guest. The campers in the campground are also some of the best neighbors you could ask for. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone and I will most certainly be returning myself. Thank you NRC!!!
We love to stay at NRC during our summer visits to Zanesville. It’s a short drive from I70 and easy to get to with a big rv. The owners continue to make improvements every year and are accommodating to campers needs. They always keep the grass mowed and the grounds looking very nice. It’s a relaxing place to stay with great views. The ponds are stocked with fish, there are two nice playgrounds and they have a small splash pad for kids. The park is pet friendly but there is no fenced dog area to let the dogs play off a leash. We look forward to our visit next year!
We really enjoy time at NRC the owners are great people. We normally camp with friends and have never had a problem getting two spots side by side. We had a great time watching the owners daughter and the little ones sq dancing.
NRC is an awesome place to stay whether its just for the weekend or a long term stay. It's a family business, and you can tell they care by the upkeep of the grounds. We were here for a month for work and really enjoyed our time. The sites aren't paved, but they are level and we didn't have a problem with any site we were at. I appreciate they were stern with the 5 mph speed limit. Bring cash to pay if the convenience fee for debit or credit cards bothers you, which is common for many smaller campgrounds. Thanks for being a home away from home NRC!
