We did the half day rafting trip on the Colorado River with Warren as our guide. He was awesome, very knowledgeable and a great personality. We saw a few Class 2 rapids and cooled off in the refreshing river with some floating. I highly recommend this adventure.
We took the half day Canyonlands jeep tour and it was awesome. Brandon was our guide and he was awesome. Not only knowledgeable in geology, flora, fauna but it was very interesting and a skilled off road driver.. which is appreciated driving the Rim Road and switchbacks. We went to Island in the sky on our own one day viewing down into the canyon. then did this trip the next day, going from the Colorado River UP to island in the sky. Just an amazing and educational experience. Thanks again to Brandon.. he made the trip amazing.
Recommend booking the half day Fisher Towers rafting trip at noon and requesting the kayak! Went in May and the water levels were high. There is the option for hotel pick up or check in at the office. Very few parking spots at the office, so allow time to find free street parking around the block and walk over. We parked at a nearby park. Check-in was quick and easy. You can store your belongings at the office. Recommend leaving car keys and only bringing phone in waterproof case along on trip. Apply waterproof sunscreen and wear sunglasses and hat. 20 min van ride to the drop point where the guides served a delicious lunch pasta and fruit salad. It was our first time going whitewater kayaking didn't even know they called the kayak a "ducky", and we didn't receive much instruction. Luckily, our van driver gave us some very helpful advice. 1. aim to go down the middle of the river if unsure which route to take 2. stay a whole raft length away from the other rafts 3. stay upstream of at least one of the rafts 4. aim straight perpendicular going into a rapid and don't line up parallel to the wave 5. If you flip, straighten your legs, and you should be able to slip out of the thigh straps. It was such an adrenaline rush and such a fun workout! If you want to let your guide do the work rowing, choose the raft option.
We had a wonderful time on the needles 4x4 trip. It was a great way to experience a part of Cayonlands that most people never get to see. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a ton between heart-pounding moments as we took on paths I had no idea a car could traverse. The hike on joint trail was a unique experience ending in beautiful views. Highly recommend Navtec and this particular trip.
My husband and I just walked in the door from a full day guided tour, half day in Canyonlands, half in Arches. Serendipity gave us two outstanding guides, Matt and Mike. These guides were as incredible as the scenery. They were knowledgeable, funny, and helpful in every way possible. But most importantly, they both had a feel for the spirit of the land itself. We learned a tremendous amount from both of them and are so glad we chose this guided tour.
Good people. We booked the full day rafting tour, but Navtec called to ask us to change to 1/2 day because the River was running so high/fast that the float wouldn’t last the whole time allotted. We paid the 1/2 day price. According to our guide, the 1/2 day float was almost as long distance as the full day. It was windy, which made it harder for our guides to get us down River and we pulled out 30 min past expected, but it was still super fun. Highly recommend.
Our canyoneering trip was amazing! My two friends and I had David as a guide, and he was fun and super knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the land. He was also calm and confident with the three of us during the rappels, something that was new and slightly terrifying to one of my friends. He talked her through every step, and made it an incredible experience. The hike up to and between rappels on the way down was beautiful, with plenty of wildflowers along the way, and stunning views. Thank you David and NAVTEC for a top-notch canyoneering experience!!
4x4 Went out with Ric Otero today on the 4x4 tour through canyonlands. The trip was amazing started on the Moab side going in on the potash road with picture opportunities with arches and seen some amazing petroglyphs. Once in the canyonlands back country we were treated to all of the amazing views inside the canyon and looking down on the Colorado river. Ric was very knowledgeable about the history of Moab and the surrounding area and also had lots of recommendations for hiking and other drives to do in the area. All in all I would recommend Ric to anyone taking this tour or any of the 4x4 tours. Rafting For the rafting portion of this tour we started with a nice lunch on the river shore then went out on the river with Katie and had an amazing time. The trip was very relaxing and we even seen some big horn sheep. While on the tour Katie gave us some history of the river and the area around us as we were passing by it. Definitely learned a lot of cool new facts and got a new perspective of an area that I’ve traveled quite a bit. All in all for this part of the trip I would definitely recommend Katie for the rafting if you can and you will have a good time. Also she makes a pretty good wrap if you get to have lunch while on the river.
4x4 and rafting was enjoyable. The Colorado was pretty tame due to the high flow. The road up the side of the mesa kept you on the edge of your seat. The guides were great.
What an epic experience! If you've got one day to see the area and you aren't familiar with it, I highly recommend this tour, especially if your mobility is limited. Blane was our guide and he threaded the needle perfectly for making our tour accessible to my mom such a patient gentlemen! and giving me all the great regionally geologic history that I was hoping for. He knew all the spots, made them all special, and he kept us nice and warm despite it being seriously cold and windy! Mom says, "Thanks for everything, Blane! And thanks for letting me bring my butt pillow!"
