Really beautiful place! Must see if coming to Moab! We came here for family pictures. I wish we had had time to come back and explore again. Personally, I thought it was more breathtaking than arches national park.
Really nice park. Great place to just come and relax, and be one with nature. The park design is very reminiscant of Frank Lloyd Wright type architectural design. Amazing views of the Colorado River and back side views of the canyons in Canyonland National Park. Restrooms: Located at two of the overlooks and at the visitor center. Dog-friendliness: Service dog friendly Picnic area: Many through out the park
If you go to Moab, go to Dead Horse Point State Park! This place is absolutely stunning. Arches is great and so is Canyon Lands, but we almost missed Dead Horse Point thinking it wouldn't be as good... We were dead wrong. This place is something else. We went at sunset and it took our breath away. Our kids were able to walk around albeit with a death grip on their hands very steep drop-offs. All in all, don't miss this place. It was probably our favorite stop in the area.
Stunning views and a great place. The visitor shop is set up nicely, and the prices are fair. There are several mountain biking trails along the drive in. Entrance is $20 and there are lots of options for hiking or biking. The scenery is well worth the price
My hubby and I came and visited Moab for our second time, and were looking to do “something different” but just as beautiful, as Arches… and this park DELIVERED! We did both rim trails making the entire loop and were really glad that we did! **we saw several groups that were “just” driving to parking lot to parking lot to see “highlights” ***which is fine! But personally, I would highly suggest packing a lunch, getting there early, hiking the loop in its entirety, and then celebrating with a yummy lunch overlooking a GORGEOUS view!
360-panoramic views of canyons and the La Sal Mountains. Well-maintained, easy trails throughout. Dog friendly! Numerous scenic overlooks with parking lots and bathrooms at each. Tip-start at Dead Horse Point! There are also campsites for RVs, tents, and yurts. Large parking spaces for buses and RVs at Dead Horse Point.
Spared a few hours on a long road trip to visit. And it was worthwhile. Great views over the Mesa. Interesting colours and shadows. The trail walks are suitably 'dangerous' near the cliff edges so watch out. The Schaefer trail looked good - just too little time.
Worth the stop even if you’re just passing through. The view reminded me of a smaller Grand Canyon, which seems odd to say considering how wide and deep the canyon still is. The main overlook has a nice covered area that offers lots of shade as you take in the views. And the short path leading to it is paved for easy access. Make sure you stop by the visitors center and checkout the dinosaur footprint out front. One of the clearest foist prints I’ve seen.
Spectacular! We’ll cared for campground. Immaculate tent pads. A dishes washing sink with sprayer. Beautiful vistas. A short drive to Canyonlands National Park.
Amazing scenery from the state park. Most sites have a shade shelter. No water fill available for RV so make sure you come with a full tank. Everything is well cared for and this beautiful park. Book well ahead of time as spaces sell out in minutes.
