For 30 years Necromance has been the quirkiest natural history shop on Melrose Avenue. Specializing in crystals, decorative animal remains, and other strange knick knacks, the shop is somewhat of a miniature museum, except the specimens are for sale! If you love morbid natural history like me, then Necromance is a must-see the next time you're in Hollywood.

This shop was worth my 3 hour drive to get there. The lady working there, with all the tattoos, was extremely nice and accommodating. We were trying to find a shirt to fit me. She also was pleased to share information she had on products. The merchandise was great and prices were very comparable to other oddity shops I have visited. I got some x-Ray images of animals to add to my curiosity collection ranged in price from $2-$8. I definitely plan on going back when L.A isn’t so hot.
A genuine establishment of the wonderful, eccentric, and macabre. The curios, collectibles, gift items, clothing, jewelry and accessories sold within the shop on Melrose Avenue are very wonderful and well displayed. The customer service is very helpful and prompt, I highly recommend this place as it has been also recommended to me by many friends and acquaintances over the years and their legendary reputation is very true to the point. I had purchased a one-of-a-kind item they had in their display case, it made a wonderful gift that my lady absolutely loved it upon me gifting it to her. I also even bought myself an item I liked as they were silver bat winged barrettes. I look forward to getting more items from Necromance in the future.
Ive loved this place for many years. Iconic 90's shop that's survived and doing well!! So this place is just super cool. The taxidermy is just amazing. The jewelry is amazing. The antique posters are such unique finds. The staff, so nice. This awesome employee was so doting and helped my spend a couple 00's. No photography allowed f.y.i. Thank you Necromance!
They use to have mostly authentic items which is why I enjoyed the store but they've never given me the impression that they appreciate my business. Now they carry mostly cheaply made reproduction pieces and still ask high prices. I have no problem spending money but at least carry good quality products and act like you at least care a little about your customers because the customer service sucks here. It's a shame cause it use to be a really nice store but I'm sure there service and quality have something to do with why they now have about 1/3 the size store and inventory they use to. Maybe if they went back to how they were originally they would do better as a company. Would not recommend this place to anybody nowadays which really is a shame since at one time it was one of my favorite places ever.
Not good. The woman is very rude that works here. Like, if you're closed, 1. Why is your door open?? 2. Why were there people lined up? 3. Why did nobody say anything when myself and another walked in? 4. Why don't you have signs stating that you're closed? Yesterday there was a 75% off sale, so I went to see what was left; and yeah it was bare bones but like this lady literally ushered me out following close behind as I told her I didn't know they were closed. She just goes, I don't want to argue. I love the stuff they sold at this place, I love these kinds of things. But after the few experiences I've had here. It always seems like the older womanowner is so judgemental, never once have I had an enjoyable time in this store. I don't even care if they close.
I'm surprised by the negative comments about the customer service. I drive from Santa Barbara to this shop and always have a good time. The "girl with the tattoos" is Vanessa and although I only come in once or twice a year, she remembered me and my daughter! I couldn't believe it. She is interesting to talk to and a pretty sweet person from what I could tell. Don't let her appearance intimidate you, come with good energy and you'll get it back in return.
Amazing store, really unique I bought a huge collection of mounted moths and butterflies here for a project. Love this shop. Staff is friendly and they have really amazing items here. Definitely need to check this out if you are in the area
