The Neighborhood Arts Project strives to serve the community as a free art camp during the months of June and July. Presented under pop-up tents in neighborhoods around Baton Rouge, NAP provides access to various art forms and media while encouraging expression and imagination. There is something for everyone whether it be the portable painting studio, bookmaking, printmaking, and sculpture projects or our designated reading area. The goal of NAP is to foster a sense of community, build self-esteem, and provide a positive and safe outlet to express ideas and feelings while having fun and making friends through art.
NAP was brought to Baton Rouge in 2013 - the program began in Taos, New Mexico under the leadership of Artist/Educator Siena Sanderson.
