About Dr. Nelson Mar
Dr. Mar is a 1995 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry (Go Huskers!) and has been in the West Valley area for more than 14 years. He opened his first solo practice in July of 2002 in Litchfield Park and after four years outgrew the first facility.
He opened a brand new, state of the art, office in November of 2006. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Family Dentistry, American Association of Sports Dentistry, and received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July of 2002. He is actively pursuing his Mastership in the Academy. He was awarded this designation after five years of continuous membership and 500 hours of continuing education courses on the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Mar enjoys fishing, snorkeling, running, and would have been a marine biologist if he had not found dentistry as a career, which is reflected in the decor of his new office. He is also serving the community by visiting schools to educate children, providing public service information about dental care, and supported dental missions to developing countries, such as Hondura
