Health New England So deny me the medication to help me lose weight. But I bet you’d have no problem if I was prescribed medication for depression again which was the reason I gained weight in the first place!!! My metabolism was great until then! No problem if I’m on anti depressants because I’m so distraught and feeling so incredibly terrible because no matter what I do I can’t lose this weight! So then it gets worse and when I then develop diabetes THEN I can have the medication to help me. But we have to be put through more pain and suffering first. Not to mention the over $500 that come out of every paycheck to your company means nothing at all. You still can’t get the treatment you need because the insurance company is your doctor. It’s pathetic and so wrong. I work 3 jobs I can’t take the other medication…the side effect list is crazy!!! So my actual doctor, prescribing the medicine I desperately need, who sees me suffer, talks to me, sees me crying for help, witnesses my helplessness, my pain and anguish…his opinion means nothing? My health obviously means nothing to this insurance company. If I had money it wouldn’t be an issue. Health New England is awful, they do not care about people at all. Look at the rest of the reviews!!! NEGATIVE 100 IF I COULD.
This is literally the worst insurance on the planet. They cover NOTHING. We are constantly getting bills upon bills. They didn’t even cover an NST when I was pregnant. I can not WAIT to never deal with this awful insurance ever again. Biggest mistake was switching to this garbage insurance company. Will absolutely be going back to BCBS
Nothing in the past three years has caused me more constant stress and annoyance than HNE. They delayed finding a new doctor, delayed covered payments, and lied to my face about a simple payment for 2 whole years, resulting in collections despite a promise it was handled months ago. Literally have to call after every doctor's visit to make sure they actually paid. They do pay for meds and small appointments regularly though, just never go to the doctor's for anything but a checkup.
Im a diabetic and need a pump to LIVE. Insurance won't cover the new one, old one isn't in warranty so if anything breaks I'll have to go to the hospital because I won't have a way to give myself my insulin and ill die. Seems like you pay a lot of money for them to not cover anything while the people in charge get to roll in the money.
My husband has Health New England as his supplemental insurance. What an absolute waste of money. They covered $4.02 of a $226 bill. He pays this insurance so he won't have these unexpected costs. He has left several messages with the # given on the back of the bill for invoice questions..5 messages and over 1 week later.Still no response..
Run...just RUN as fast as you can away from this firm. It should rightly be called Health greater Springfield area. Mass General isn't even in the network. Seriously incompetent in every engagement. Had three agents tell me they were mailing a claims form not online. One month = no form. Then 4th agent directs me to another site, NOT the member portal, where the form resides. Filed the claim, with signature receipt from USPS. One month and 6 calls later, they say they have lost the claim forms...resubmit!!! Suing them in small claims court. Resolution: They settled in full, plus expenses three weeks before the trial date. Sooo much easier suing them than filing a claim.
I've called 7 times to get my health reimbursement check of $199.00. They tell me the same thing every time that it's going to ship in 5 days. It's been 6 months. I'm currently pregnant and they are not doing a thing to help me. They laughed at me last time I called - appalling.
This insurance company farms out to Evicore both companies are garbage. They deny MRI's so it prolongs treatment and keeps you suffering. This company is the worst insurance. STAY AWAY! Get insurance with anyone both this company.
Health New England is an absolutely terrible health insurance company and I don’t recommend anyone including employers use them. My employers chose them this year for health insurance and it has been an absolute joke dealing with them. I require a specific medication that was not approved with them initially that I have been using for years. After a lengthy and annoying process I was able to get them to approve it. After refilling my prescription, I go to try to pick it up and I am told that the pre authorization has been revoked. Now not only I cannot pick up my medication which I am dependent on to live, they don’t even have a customer service line open late enough for me to call to fix this. I work later than the pharmacy is open every week and only can pick it up my medication on one day. Now I am expected to wait a week before I can refill my prescription. Not only has it been an immense pain in the a$$ dealing with them for this, they tried not covering my medical apparatus and supplies for my medication as well. Never had this issue with HARVARD PILGRIM. What a joke.
Hope you have a lot of time on your hands if you end up with HNE. You'll need it for the time you'll be on the phone trying to get needed medicine for you and your loved ones. They deny approval based on you not having a condition when you are trying to get medicine for said condition, or deny it as it was not done under supervision of a certain specialist when that's the specialist who is making said request, and so many other reasons they pull out of their grab bag of denials.
