Newark Street Park K-9 Friends works in partnership with DC Department of Parks and Recreation to maintain Newark Street Dog Park as a clean, safe, and enjoyable place for dogs to play and people to visit.
Newark Street Dog Park was designed for the enjoyment of dogs and people alike. The Dog Park is located in the sunny southwest corner of the Newark Street Park complex, beyond the children’s playground. The Dog Park is accessible via the stairs from 39th Street, and via the ADA-compliant gravel path from Newark Street. Street parking is available.
Help us minimize costs and maximize park enjoyment. Please respect the park rules and clean up after your dog while at the Newark Street Dog Park.
Newark Street Dog Park includes the following amenities:
• 2 Separate play areas for big and little dogs

Take Wisconsin Avenue south towards the National Cathedral, past McDonald’s. Pass Vaughn Place Condominiums on right. Turn right at next traffic light onto Newark Street. Go 2 blocks to 39th Street. Newark Street Park is on the left corner.

Take Wisconsin Avenue north towards the National Cathedral, past Massachusetts Avenue. Pass Cactus Cantina on left. Turn left at next traffic light onto Newark Street. Go 2 blocks to 39th Street. Newark Street Park is on the left corner.
Directions from American University
Take Massachusetts Avenue east towards downtown, past Nebraska Ave traffic circle. Turn first left onto Macomb Street. Pass Washington Hebrew Congregation synagogue on left. Turn left at first stop sign onto 39th Street. Go 1 block to Newark Street. Newark Street Park is on the right corner.
