Dr. Paicius founded Newport Beach Headache and Pain in 1996. He has been named one of “Orange County’s Best Doctors”. Specializing in interventional pain management, he is recognized internationally for his work in spinal cord stimulation. Having had academic positions at UCLA and UC Irvine in Anesthesiology and Pain Management, he has built a multi-disciplinary team in Newport Beach to address the varied needs of pain patients.
After graduating medical school from The University of Arizona, he completed his residency and internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Paicius is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and earned extended qualifications by the ABA. He has taught hundreds of physicians advanced techniques in interventional pain management.

Dr. Paul Kim is a pain specialist and anesthesiologist. He completed his training in interventional pain management at Harvard Medical School, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, recipient of the American Academy of Pain Medicine fellowship excellence award. He also spent a portion of his training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital and has been mentored by some of the top leaders and innovators in the field of pain medicine. Dr. Kim has published multiple papers and has years of experience in research in the fields of pain medicine, neurology, and psychology, including basic science research involving the molecular, genetic, and behavioral basis of addiction at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Gallo research center. Dr. Kim is passionate about pain medicine, believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to treating pain, and hopes to bring the newest technological innovations and treatment options to the patients under his care.
