I want to let you know if you have any hesitation about visiting the dentist because of fear, you can let that go. The staff from the assistants to the doctors treated me with quality care. They were friendly understading and profession. When the endontist assured me the root canal was going to be painless, I was skeptical bc I had that procedure done before and it was anything but. However, The treatment I recieved was literally painless. I am truly grateful and thankful to have found people who know what they are doing and take pride in their work. Bravo Long Beach Newport team. You have made me a believer that a dental visit should not be feared.
The staff was nice but the facility wasn’t very clean . When I walk into a facility and it at least looks neat and clean , I feel that they care about appearance as well as overall experience for customers . When I walked in the carpet at the entrance was filthy , there was a roach right beside my dental chair and a fly kept buzzing around me. Hopefully this isn’t standard practice . Please update your facility appearance and ensure it aligns with how you want to be perceived by your clients . Regular cleaning will help
I Had an appointment today and at the last minute they called me and told me they had to reschedule because,the insurance didn’t send the proper paperwork/ coverage and they are closed on the weekend.They should have been aware of that the day before and made sure they had the proper information so when I arrived everything is ready to go. They are not doing their job right and need improvement.
I've been to 3 different dental office in the past 4 years. A relative informed me of Newport Dental. On my initial visit I was impressed. From the receptionist, technician, and Doctor. All displaying professionalism, people skills, and very helpful. I definitely would recommend Newport Dental in Long Beach to anyone.

My husband had a broken tooth and we were in need of an emergency appointment, we came here cause they said they had a specialist in office that could help us, we get to the appointment and in less than an hour my husband is back out with a list of dental work he “needs “ done. They referred us to a different specialist for the broken tooth which has no available appointments and insisted we make an appointment for the “needed” dental work!! The dentist also said we would be getting a call from our pharmacy to pick up our prescription and there was no prescription put in. Do not go here. I will never come back to this dentist, they are insensitive and only care about how they will get you to pay for procedures. The sad part we would’ve had the “needed” dental work done but we came here for an emergency appointment and they did not take care of the issue nor did they take care of their patient.
I had amazing experiences with them up until yesterday. I previously had a 4:30 appointment for a dental impression but called the morning prior to ask if they had any later time slots. A woman that I had never worked with before offered me a 5:30pm slot so I moved my appointment to then. However, after taking time off from work to leave early and sit in 50min of traffic for 30 miles, I arrive only for them to claim that my appointment was at 4:30 and that I would need to reschedule! Although it was a mistake on their end, they denied responsibility and were unable to fit me in despite the simple and quick procedure and stated that it was impossible for me to have been given a 5:30pm spot to begin with. Why would I make that up?! They had to reschedule me to another day and time that was, coincidently, at 5:30pm! I truly hope that this never occurs again. The only reason that this isn’t a 1 star review is because Dr. Okwuosa and the main, longtime receptionist Sandra have been a pleasure to work with.
My dentist is very concerned about me and my health and well-being. She wanted to know if I had taken my medicine and had ate breakfast. She went through the trouble of having my husband bring me something to eat b4 my treatment. These are really good folks who have your health care in mind as well as your dental care.
The dental staff there are awesome, it’s the people that handle the billing that made this a bad experience. I had a crown put on about 2 years and it suddenly broke. I went into the office and they said my insurance wouldn’t cover it because the broken crown was self inflicted. I tried to explain that the tooth broke from the backside so there was no way it could have been self inflicted. She sat there and pretty much said the x-rays don’t lie. I went ahead and paid for the new crown out of pocket since I couldn’t be walking around with a missing tooth. I reached out to my insurance and they advised me that the dental office took advantage of me because they never even tried to bill the insurance company first. Basically they never gave the insurance company the chance to make a decision wether they were going to cover the broken crown or not, instead they just billed me and assumed they wouldn’t cover it. This matter is yet to be resolved.
Dr. Okwuosa was very kind and helpful to my 6-year old daughter. We’d seen another dentist that wouldn’t do any work unless we agreed to extra services. Dr. Okwuosa took one look literally at my daughter’s tooth and immediately said she could correct the problem. Our wait time was minimal, even on a Saturday, and my daughter is much more comfortable with her smile.
