I provide counseling services to teens and adults suffering from anxiety, depression, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
I received my Master's in Counseling Psychology in 2003, since then I have counseled families, teens, and children with severe emotional disturbances. I am especially interested in the mind-body connection, specifically how physical health and nutrition impact emotional health. Therefore, my approach to therapy combines traditional psychotherapeutic methods with a holistic model that considers the mind, body, and spirit. Part of my approach includes the use of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a method that is becoming increasing popular as it is shown to quickly alleviate emotional and physical symptoms.
I specialize in working with soon to be and new moms. Perinatal mood disorders are prevalent in our society yet, often go undiagnosed and unrecognized. The goal of my work is to support, normalize, and stabilize women in this time of their lives.
I believe that the most curative factor in counseling is the therapeutic relationship. This relationship should be safe, yet challenging. My biggest strength is my ability to connect with clients in an authentic and empathic manner.
It may be when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.
