North Alabama Dental Assisting Program, founded by Dr. Maggie McKelvey, is a revolutionary method of teaching dental assisting in a rapid, but organized manner which is easy to master.
Originally founded in Atlanta in 1987, North Alabama Dental Assisting Program is the oldest and most experienced dental assisting program of its kind in the country. In a very short amount of time, students become properly trained and prepared to work side by side with the dentist. Benefits of this program include comprehensive instruction by dental professionals, a small class size, and hands-on training in a practicing dental office. Upon completion of this program, students are given a Certificate of Completion in Dental Assisting and are trained in Dental Radiology.
This program is unique because it is a 10 week course, taught on Saturdays, and costs thousands less than a year long dental assisting program at neighboring colleges. Why spend the first four months sitting in a classroom before picking up the first dental instrument? In the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program, students will learn to work with dental equipment the very first day! Our method of teaching includes a swift yet organized process that allows students to acquire hands-on training in a state-of-the-art dental facility which houses a pediatric dentist, an oral surgeon, an orthodontist, and several general dentists.
