North Hanley station

Description

North Hanley is a St. Louis MetroLink station, located by the North Hanley overpass of I-70. It is primarily a commuter station featuring 1583 park and ride spaces (including 657 in a garage facility). The station also serves as a major bus transfer center for Metro in North St. Louis County.Controversial arrestOn October 31, 2013, a passenger named Kenneth Suitter was arrested by St. Louis County Police officers for allegedly trespassing after a St. Louis Metro Transit security officer attempted to stop Suitter from recording. Three days after video of the arrest was uploaded to YouTube, Metro responded with this statement on Facebook: "Video surveillance reveals that what we saw on YouTube was the last six minutes of more than 20 minutes of the videographer putting the video camera in customers faces and attracting unwanted attention. The safety of our customers and our employees is our top priority." Dozens of people have demanded on Metro's Facebook page that they release the mysterious fourteen minutes of video justifying the arrest. Metro has yet to release the alleged fourteen minutes of video, however, and has refused to make further comment regarding the incident since November 4, 2013. On November 18, 2013, the St. Louis County Police Department's MetroLink Unit's commanding officer sent Suitter a letter saying that a review of the arrest revealed that St. Louis Metro Transit had failed to inform the St. Louis County Police of a change in Metro's filming and photography policy and that as a result of Metro's failure to inform the St. Louis County Police, they were dropping the charges against Suitter.

Nice facility but could use real time info signage and restrooms not just for bus drivers
Security was rude and busses leave within 2 min of trains arriving making people wait for a hour there to catch the bus.
This is a good metro station. Use it to commute on occasion, and to go to Cardinals/Blues games. $5 for a round trip ticket is a great price compared to parking prices downtown, although it does take a bit longer than driving. Parking lot is well lit, platform is clean, and there is plenty of security, even early in the morning.
Parked and rode the tram to the Cardinals game
Clean, feels safe. Well lighted at night.
No issues at all
I have never had a problem with using this location, use this station about 10 to 20 times a year to take down to thr baseball games. Depending on the times could get busy but never had a problem. Just lock you items in the car out of sight. And just know your area!
metro is decent but has its flaws. there is no such thing as perfect and i like the majority of the bus drivers who deserves more credit than they get. .the driver of bus 34 earth city that i take every morning that leaves the hanley at 7:50 however needs to be either disciplined or fired. he is rude to everyone that goes on the bus and doesnt know how to talk to people. he will intentionally mess with people, make people he knows is coming up to the bus chase and run as he takes off to mess with them instead of waiting or grumbles and snaps at people when they ask him questions. once i saw him snap at a woman who simply walked up to ask him a question about the route and demanded her to sit down in a condescending tone, refusing to help her. today i went to catch the bus and the doors were closed. i lightly knock on the door and wait. he saw me and knows im waiting but ignores me, pretending to adjust his seat, shift his seat belt, anything other than opening the door. i knock again louder and he ignores me and even presses the button to lift the bus into the air while im consistently knocking, refusing to acknowledge me and pretending not to notice my existence something he has done to others before. i keep knocking, he glances and then looks back and continue to mess around and act like hes pulling off till another guy comes up behind me to get on as well. driver frowns and eventually opens the door, not even bothering to pay us an ounce of interest. so yeah, metro needs to screen their employees better and have accountability, this is a public service job and if you're not capable of providing the service then you shouldnt be in a public service job. other than this incident i do like the other dirvers and their haste to get us to where we are going on time, and their patience when they need to be. on a separate note i believe the talk of heightening the already high bus fare is ridiculous as well as the ridiculous amount of metro security and police, it is borderline harassment to have at times five police cars parked or stalking the property mingled with the other metro security cars and the multitude of guards walking around. it's sending the opposite message than its intended for and is a waste of resources that is better spent elsewhere instead of a hawkish surveillance. the excessive force is simply unnecessary. sorry for the long review but its just intended honesty of what i see everyday and personal experience.
Take u are lighter and small can of hair spray as protection. I didnt know whether to pay the young hangout guys to be my bodyguard or pay to leave me alone . Metro collects too much money from isnt citizens to feel unsafe. Its such a shame u have to walk fast with a mean face especially when u are super cute like me the metro drivers are super fine
Please put the Johnny on the Spot back at this metro link station. It is a highly used station. There is one for bus drivers still. Don't we care about our passengers anymore? Some bus rides are 40 minute long for them. Thank you kindly!!!
