North Las Vegas Airport is three miles northwest of downtown Las Vegas, in North Las Vegas, in the State of Nevada. It is owned by Clark County and operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation.Known locally as Northtown, it is the second-busiest airport in the Las Vegas area and the third-busiest in Nevada. It is the primary airport in the Las Vegas area for general aviation and scenic tours, allowing McCarran International Airport to focus on airline flights. North Las Vegas does offer limited regional airline service. Many helicopter operators including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department use the airport.The airport is certificated under 14 CFR Part 139.HistoryThe airport opened on December 7, 1941, as Sky Haven Airport. Flew in private/GA in December. 1st time here. Called Unicom after landing and they were responsive and guided me on where to park. There are tie down chains with plenty of spaces. Service was friendly. They offered water bottles upon arrival. The terminal building is modern with clean facilities. Parking is adequate up front. Upon departure, the self serve fuel island was also state of the art. There is space for pilots/crew and a flight planning room. Air Elite offered a free day for purchasing fuel. ATC was helpful.
Great airport to fly into as a pilot. I love it when the van pulls up and the driver welcome us to drive us 100 yards to the terminal. Feels super VIP for my passengers and I. Same treatment for Cessna/Piper/Cirrus passengers as jet passengers!
It’s a nice place to go if you like airplanes. My daughter loves them and we’ve often gone to watch the planes take off from the deck. They also have a few little exhibits to check out. Other then that there isn’t much to do other then like hit to the vending machines. You can independently learn about planes and aviation here or they offer flight lessons for the more enthused.
Great service, very reasonable prices, and good food made this a highly recommended restaurant.
Get number A1-12 need to extra take care of restroom and improve cleaning.

The 2 big things here: 1 If you're having a bad day, don't bring it to work and don't take it out on your customers. 2 If you need fuel at KVGT, use self-serve I had a very bipolar experience here. When I checked in, the lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly. Upon checkout, the guy behind the counter, who was obviously disgruntled, tossed a bill in front of me that included fuel I asked them to top me off. Based on the # of gallons they charged me for, it would have equated to a 40% increase in fuel burn. I politely mentioned that this doesn't make sense and inquired if perhaps they had given me the wrong bill. The guy immediately blew up at me, threw some papers around and basically told me there's nothing he can do about it. I immediately requested to speak with a manager who was much friendlier and was able to complete my checkout without further incidents; however, she wasn't budging on the fuel discrepancy. When I flew home and topped off at the self-serve pump, my fuel burn rate was back to where it normally is. They ripped me off for 6 gallons of fuel for a 1.4 hr flight. Otherwise, the facility is nice and the restaurant upstairs was very good with polite and friendly staff.
Sunshine and Tailwinds Cafe is a blast and a great value. Consistently good food and real busy now that so many others have discovered it! And when you're done eating, walk out on the observation deck and watch the planes! Big fun!
Descent airport with a okay restaurant inside. ATC is professional and great at their job.
Used to fly into this airport on a regular basis great service great people. Flew in on the 9th of October 2021 boy things sure have changed. The shade hangers for $30 a day are worth the money and the guys that run you around in the Vans outside are great but the minute you step inside the help is not so much help. And they changed the decor to a very institutional Gray used to be a real happy environment now it's just like how fast can I get out of here.
