North Pointe Psychiatry

So good things first: Rachel is an excellent psychiatrist who really listens and works with you and Brett is a wonderful and very helpful therapist. But the consistent problem with this office is getting in contact with them. I often get sent to voicemail, which would be fine but I only get a response to my voicemails about 50% of the time, maybe even less. I am lucky in that most often my requests/calls are not time sensitive, but when they are this can be deeply frustrating, because you don't know for sure if you'll hear back or if you'll just have to call again. I don't want that to overshadow that this place has helped me a lot, just to note that it is an issue I've had with this place frequently. Just be prepared to deal with it I suppose.

every time i call denton locationIF someone answers the phone before i can speak i’m put on hold for 20-50 minutes. every time i’ve walked in for my appointment the two hispanic ladies are always texting on their phones and finish answering person texts and cell phone calls before greeting patients. they’re extremely terrible at customer service. i have called the office 25 times and got sent to voicemail every time today. i needed to know what pharmacy my medication was sent to, and if it was even refilled. these things are not something people with mental illnesses can just stop taking. they’re extremely inconsiderate, rude, and unprofessional. this isn’t a call center. it’s a psychiatrist office. their website “strives for professionalism” but i have gotten anything but that. they need new people that actually care about their jobs in the front office. i have been in there when NO ONE was in the office but me. my appointments are almost always around this time and they are never busy when i’m there. this is a big issue.

This place is absolute trash. That Maryan lady should NOT even work here. She’s extremely judgemental so on your paperwork i suggest you don’t be honest especially if she’s the one you have to talk too. She’s also clueless about mental health. She literally blames you and your actions for your mental health. So if you have no choice but to go to this place, i suggest you see anyone but this lady. SHE NEEDS FIRED! This isn’t a place to hire judgemental, rude, careless, uneducated people.

Trying to make an appointment after my referral took 5 phone calls of lengthy holds and disconnects and a month and a half. First visit I arrived 15 min early was asked to wait in my car and they were running 20min behind. After an hour had passed I went in and was told still not able to be seen and asked to wait 15 more min before being seen. So I waited 1hour and 15 min past my appointment time. By now my anxiety was maxed out. Left my appointment in the dark with some very sketchy people in the parking lot. Second visit, again had extended wait. I watched in anxiety as a patient was called back at my EXACT appointment time. I asked to have records up to this point sent to my PCP . I completed required paperwork for this and was assured they would be sent . My doctor has tried to contact this office with no one answering or responding to multiple calls and messages. As of today he still has not heard from this office or received my records. It has now been 2 weeks since my visit. This is not a good place unless you have all the patience in the world to sit on hold, not have calls returned or like waiting extended periods to be seen.

I would avoid this location at all costs. They cancelled on me TWICE and so it got pretty confusing and I showed up to the rescheduled appointment late. The appointment in general didn’t go as planned as they wouldn’t just refill my medication that I’ve been on 14 years without going to another doctor first which is very odd to me. The cherry on top was sending a $50 bill for “missing” the appointment and instead of working with me, choosing to pretend they had no fault in the matter. I won’t even continue with the other problems… but there are many! Very disappointed in this office!

Marian ruined my hormones and my psyche with medication that is designed to be used on patients with schizophrenia, not Autism Spectrum Disroder. She saw it as a cure all for a biological disorder that has nothing to do with how an atypical mind works. Like anyone here would know how an atypical mind works in the first place, place is run by genetic mistakes.

Dr. Marian was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I have put off seeking medical care for years due to the fear I would encounter a doctor like this. I do not know if it is standard practice, but the questions I was asked bordered on way too personal. I was asked questions about my family history, including why I did not live with my mother when I was younger which felt unnecessary. I have a sibling currently incarcerated and was asked what they were in for which did not feel like necessary information. She claimed she needed to build a "social profile" of me which included asking about a history of abuse, and this was all before I even got to talk about the reason I was visiting. She seemed annoyed and disinterested in my care, and while I don't expect doctors to be overly friendly or anything, she was far from affable or welcoming. Incredibly cold and uncaring, I admitted to being nervous and she did very little to put me at ease. This has honestly put me off from seeking treatment in the future. I would not recommend this doctor or practice.

I was never asked for payment until one of the front desk staff rudely greeted me with “have you not been getting our bills in the mail? You have an extensive balance.” With other patients in the reception area. I checked in and the nice receptionist handed me a $1300 bill i had been racking up since april with no attempts to notify me of the balance or my inadequate insurance coverage. I would have not being seeing my counselor every two weeks if i knew each session was costing me over $200. I feel bamboozled and discouraged from seeking mental health care, especially from this practice

Dr. Marian is terrible. She will not listen or care about what you have to say and will incorrectly diagnose you after your first session. She will belittle you and give you medication that makes you worse. If you have a choice stay away from her, I am only seeing her until I can find a therapist that will listen and diagnose me properly. I was referred to this office and was able to get in quickly. Save yourself the trouble and either see a different therapist within North Pointe or find a different clinic altogether. Dr. Marian does not need to be practicing medicine.

Treated horribly. This facility has very poor management. You are not able to contact your provider at all. If you have an emergency you are not able to get refills. I was in emergency and couldn't walk but the receptionist had no compassion and told me to reschedule. It's not good to be without medication for this long. I have been waiting for a response for a two week supply of 2 medications but have not heard anything. I definitely do not recommend this facility.
