Northern California Functional Restoration Program

About

Northern California Functional Restoration Program is designed to help those suffering from chronic pain and are at a loss for how to get their life back.

Description

The Northern California Functional Restoration program is designed to evaluate and treat patients with "chronic pain" and delayed recovery. Since treatment of chronic pain requires a great deal of time and resources, and is frequently seen as inadequate, patients, physicians, and third-party payers may become frustrated. At the Northern California Functional Restoration program an interdisciplinary evaluation including a medical pain evaluation, physical therapy evaluation, and psychological evaluation is performed before accepting a patient into the program. The interdisciplinary team will then provide a comprehensive report identifying the issues that have hindered progress in the past and will provide recommendations regarding treatment. A realistic assessment and prognosis of the patient's condition that is accepted by the patient and third party payers can set the path for successful results.

Our program stresses physical functioning, psycho-behavioral modification, nutrition, and education to optimize patient success. Patients will attend an interdisciplinary program for up to 6 weeks Monday thru Friday. Individualized and group psychotherapy, physical therapy, educational classes and medical treatment will provide patients with tools to manage their pain, return to work, and function effectively in all areas of their lives. Participation in the Northern California Functional Restoration Program will be limited to those patients whom the staff and physicians believe there is a realistic likelihood of improvement in physical, emotional and vocational functioning. We will assess each patient's ability to return to work or participate in vocational rehabilitation. Due to the chronic nature of the patient's disability a return to work may not always be a realistic goal but will be addressed whenever appropriate through work hardening, and progressive return to work.
