Hands down the best experience I have ever had with a hospital I’ve had there. They beat all other hospitals in Georgia and Florida, I’ve had a lot of surgeries :-/. I had 3 surgeries at Cherokee this year alone and every experience has been wonderful! Their nurses and anesthesiologist team are the best! They are very detailed in what they do along with great bedside manner. I would like to say Courtney C. in ICU was the best nurse I have ever come across. She was so kind and passionate. I would not of been able to survive this last surgery without her. I cannot sing enough praises about her and the rest of my team there. The anesthesiologist team did not know about my rare disease and did tons of research to make sure the tubes were completely clean to make sure I did not have any cross contamination that would cause the malignant hypothermia to activate triggering my auto inflammatory disease. Best experience waking up from surgery. Good job Northside Cherokee! Well done!
I cannot even express how completely incapable this ER is of prioritizing their patients and their need to be seen. After over 3 hours in the waiting room my mother, a severe asthmatic, had yet to be seen by a doctor by the time we walked out “AMA.” Personally I feel like you need to be seen by a doctor in order to walk out against medical advice, but alas. Any other hospital prioritizes asthmatics. This one wouldn’t even treat her. If they had been busy I would have been more understanding. However they were not. When I asked if she would be seen by a doctor the woman at the front desk told me with an attitude “well she’s been seen by a nurse.” That’s great. However that was not what I asked. This is the same emergency room that left her sitting in a wheelchair, outside in the cold, unattended, after being diagnosed with pneumonia around this same time last year. Not only is this hospital completely incompetent when it comes to the care of their patients, they are also neglectful. Giving this hospital even one star is completely insulting to the sick patients waiting to be seen in the ER. Before I wrote this review I counted at least 3 other reviews stating that they also walked out. Do not let the grand exterior fool you, there is nothing nice to be found inside. Steer clear.
Unfortunately we had to take my 3 year old daughter to the ER tonight. Given how busy these ER nurses and staff were - they were amazing and I wish I could have personally thanked all of them there wasn’t many, so I’m assuming they may have been short staffed tonight. They were great to us and my daughter. They were patient to those who showed no patience. The ER is by no means a fun place to be, but when the staff is at least nice and helpful, it at least makes the visit a little more tolerable.
This summer I was admitted to the inpatient Cardiac and acute care United. From the time I was admitted into the ER and moved to the cardiac unit, I was treated with professionalism and loving care throughout my stay. It didn’t matter what department was treating me at the time I was treated with respect and much care. Northside management has done a great job in selecting people to work there. Thank you very much.
Worst ER visit I had ever had in my life. I went in with a complaint of possibly miscarrying as well as gallbladder issues and the doctor told me that in the ER my miscarriage was not their concern. Not to mention the nurse that I have with beyond rude and inconsiderate she went over and got another nurse I honestly felt bullied. I will never go to this hospital for treatment in the ER. Hands down the women's center is amazing and the ER could definitely learn something from those nurses.
We brought our son to the emergency department here after a dirt bike wreck. The doctor had to consult a book to see what he should do in front of us, reading word for word but at least we were able to get x-rays. Insurance information was provided at the time of service but the person who took the cards didn't bother to put the information in. So fast forward to a $4000 bill. I contacted the hospital and provided the insurance cards again. A couple weeks later I received an explanation of benefits saying the claim was denied by an insurance we had probably 8 years ago. I contacted billing again who claims the claim was only sent to our active insurance and cannot explain why a severely outdated inactive insurance company received the claim. Their advice is to just wait awhile and see if the claim gets received by the active insurance. Then I receive a bill from the ER physicians group which of course is not paid because there is no insurance on file. I contacted the billing department AGAIN and am told that it is a separate entity and that they cannot assist with this. So I update the insurance info with the ER physicians group and am told that it's gonna take a bit because they need to send that information to the hospital first. I am about to lose my mind because the incompetent people in billing don't know what they're doing and I'm still sitting here with $4600 in bills and no way to know if they've been submitted to the correct insurance. I should have been an ER doc. Get paid a bunch of money to read a recipe out of a book and then go sit around and talk to the incompetent folks in the billing department. This hospital needs to make some procedural changes. What a joke.
I will say some of the nurses and doctors are nice here but for overall care they could improve. They wouldn't admit my mother into the hospital because she didn't meet their "criteria" well her blood pressure was 206/99. How does that not meet their criteria????
I came to Northside Cherokee on Christmas Eve with the most severe pain I had ever experienced. I limped in to the reception and told the receptionist I couldn’t continue to stand on my own. They got me through registration, put me in a wheelchair and got me to a room within minutes. The nurses & doctors listened me to explain my symptoms and suspected I had a kidney stone. Within 30 minutes, they had my pain at a manageable level. They got me in for a CT scan and within 2 hrs, they confirmed I had a kidney stone. While the experience was miserable, I was very pleased by how attentive and empathetic all of the staff was. We were so glad we decided to go to Cherokee Northside.
I asked today’s Team lead ER nurse at 7 am , my husband has been waiting in pain since 3 am in the morning, when can he see a doctor? Her answer was ; “there are others who have been here for more than 8 hours” So I asked, would you give the same answer to your dad or your son ? Or would you try to ask about the severity of the pain instead I understand that nurses can be overworked but try to see every patient as a possible family member . Show some compassion ‍ .
I have had the distinct pleasure of two rare and hospitable trips to Northside Hospital. The first when my daughter had surgery on her thyroid several years ago and the second, taking a 91 year-old neighbor after an ambulance took his unresponsive wife of 70 years, in the middle of the night, to ER. Thinking this would be one of the worse occasions was completely turned on its head, by a Customer Support/ Patient Advocate angel, Ernesto! His care, concern, and attention to my neighbor’s delicate condition was outstanding! He spared him hours in the general waiting area by tracking his wife and putting them together until his son could arrive from out of town. To extend the benefit of the Family’s Waiting area, gave him a closeness befitting his plea, “ I am not ready to be separated from her, even though she says she is prepared.” This was the night of my 61st birthday, on December 27th, and the waiting area full beyond capacity. His wife has clung to him and is stable in ICU. He has not missed a minute with her. Thank you Ernesto! We left knowing he was in excellent hands! Thank you Northside for employing the right person in the right position! If this is the face of your front line in your new addition, we all can rest assured the best care can be found at Northside!!!
