Northwell Health’s ability to react to any emergency depends upon its willingness to act in a consolidated and coordinator manner. The Health System’s Network Emergency Management program is responsible for that organized effort to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from any emergency or disaster. The goal of the Northwell Health Emergency Management program is to reduce the loss of life, property, and protect our institutions from natural, technological, and man-made hazards, leading and supporting the Health System in a comprehensive management program of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
The intent of the Northwell Health Emergency Management program is to ensure that the hospital’s safe and effective Environment of Care is maintained. Network Emergency Management continues to strengthen the four basic phases of comprehensive emergency management in and out of the health system.
