From start to finish the attention was great, professional and empathetic. The doctor was super thorough in examining me and made me feel heard and validated. I can't express how helpful everyone was and I'm feeling a lot better.
The team was super friendly, patient, efficient, had a good sense of humor, and took their time to make sure that the process was explained thoroughly and that the bloodwork experience was comfortable and painless. Everything was done in a timely manner as well. Also, the facility was super clean.
PLEASE TEACH YOUR FRONT DESK TEAM HOW TO PRINT ITEMIZED RECEIPTS!!! Every doctors office can print itemized Receipts. I’ve been to this place several times and only one person of your staff knows how to print itemized receipts. It’s ridiculous! Today the lady go very rude with me and even though I explained to her that her colleague was able to print an itemized receipt that is showing the reason for payment, she got loud and insisted that it is not possible. I’m an oncology RN myself and know how to treat patients, and this is not it! I don’t know her name, but you can check the schedule I went on 7/18/23 at 10:00AM. Nothing to complain about on the medical side. The NPs, RNs and medical assistance staff are always very friendly, quick and efficient. They all have bedside manors and most of the time known what they are talking about. It’s really too bad that the front desk is messing up their review!
The staff was friendly and courteous, the facility was clean and inviting, and the care was very thorough. As compared to other urgent care facilities, this was easy from making an on line appointment, wait time, and quality of care.
Today I experienced the coldest reception I've yet to have at a medical facility. I told the receptionist that I was seeking a follow-up after being seen in an ER last week after being hit by a car, and that I was unable to get an appt with my own gp. I was wanting to check that everything was healing properly and that there was no cause for concern. She brusquely replied that they don't do follow-ups there. I restated my need, wondering if there had been some misunderstanding, due to the perceived tone of her reply. Sounding exasperated, she informed a medical professional and he agreed to see me in private. If I recall, his name was Malik, and he was courteous and professional, which was refreshing after the exchange I had just experienced. He asked how he could be of assistance and I explained. Without examining further than looking from a distance, he explained what I could expect during the healing process, as well as pointed out symptoms to look out for. At least he was able to put my mind at ease. As someone who is dealing with this new medical situation and is in pain and worried, that initial response was a horrible experience. I cannot recommend this place and hope to never need it.
Dominique, Ms. Receptionist, find a new job ma… This woman was not wearing a name tag however as I was leaving the building the physician that assisted me addressed her by name thankfully so now I know who exactly to complain about. From the very moment I walked inside the building on this rainy Saturday— instant attitude. Easily read on her face. Now normally I’m not going to assume someone’s energy based on their face, as it could be just her face, but I quickly found out it was not just her face. I walked in and Dominique’s first question: “What’s the reason for your visit? Because we close at 5…” Mind you I walked in at 4:15pm and there were no other patients in the building. A whole medical facility and she’s acting like she works at Starbucks and I walked in 5 minutes to closing— Plus you’re a receptionist… Was there some urgent closing paperwork that had you stressed? Nonetheless you had the rest of your 40 minutes to worry about that after the mere 5 minutes I bored you with. She then asked for my copay as per my insurance card, so I brought up the fact that my deductible has been met for the year as I literally have cancer and have been visiting Oncologist etc. all year. Given Dominique would not have known all that, but still, girl have a little wiggle room for an ounce of compassion in your profession. Or quit. Simple. Her attitude had me shaky-breathed because I was overwhelmed by her bad attitude and energy— She clearly did not want me or anybody there. Anyway, the whole deductible thing became a small back and forth. Although I myself am an able-bodied adult whose been handling my own medical concerns not even just for my condition now, but for my life in general, Dominique thought it’d be cute to imply that I didn’t know what I was talking about asking “Did your mom tell you that?” Stating that “normally” the copay is paid upon arrival and trying to explain how a deductible works as if I’m 12 years old or just stupid. Now, me stating that I’ve met my deductible really was more of a question because I’ve been overcharged a few times already from other providers because of this so I really was unsure. Even if payment was expected upfront nonetheless my complaining still lies within her approach, attitude, face and just overall employment at this Urgent Care. I came to this location in good faith despite the reviews because I’m seen by Northwell professionals at Lenox Hill often. Clearly should’ve heeded warning. And Dominique, please note whether you care or not you are a very unpleasant individual and I hope you find happiness or God one day. The gave this facility an extra star only because the nurse and physician that assisted me were definitely more friendly. I didn’t have my problem solved here but I was referred to another facility. So thanks… kind of.
The receptionist Dominique was extremely unprofessional, unsympathetic and rude. She insisted on referring to me as sweetheart so I Kindly informed her of my name and she said "Damned if I do, Damned if I don't ". I had the worst experience there and have no plans on returning. By the time I got into see the doctor my blood pressure was high due to the ill treatment I received from Dominique. To make matters worse, I received similar treatment from the medical assistant Kim. Not as bad, however she was distant and very abrasive. I remained humble! I was giving Kim the name and dosage of the medication I was taking and she said in a harsh tone "I just need the name not the dosage ". I was taken aback . Needless to say I felt as if I been assaulted in the worst way. I could barely breathe and in excruciating pain. When I asked Dominique for a Manager or supervisor she informed me that there wasn't any Manager or supervisor and called Kim in a room for a to private conversation. Please people refrain from visiting this establishment. We are very vulnerable when we are sick and do not deserve to be treated like an animal or something other than a human being. I actually went home and broke down in tears, which I rarely do. Save yourself the agony and stay away from the Dominiques and Kims out there. To make matters worse I called the office the next day to speak to a supervisor or Manager and who answered the phone.... Dominique! Again she refused to allow me the opportunity to speak to someone in charge and gave me a phony email address
If anyone needs sutures removed, consider going elsewhere. Also, I have been to this UC many times for Covid testing and other visits, and this review only pertains to my most recent visit. I went in at 11am on Memorial Day booked an appointment online, relieved that there were times available on a holiday. I was checked in quickly and spoke to the PA about removing sutures in my thumb. He said that they were knitted in a way that was unfamiliar to him. He then recommended that I go back to the hospital that did them for me, or to a City MD. I'm guessing that they were short staffed due to the holiday, but removing sutures is a routine procedure and I should be able to have it done anywhere. The two stars are for the receptionist behind the desk who was very sympathetic to me.
I didn't find this urgent care particularly helpful, but at least the facility is clean and it's easy to make an appointment online. What makes me not want to go back there is the incompetent billing department. I don't think Northwell Health's billing department knows what they're doing. I've had to call them multiple times over the past four months because they just can't seem to process the copay I paid on the day of my visit. They keep sending me bills even though I don't owe anything, and they've charged my card twice. Even after talking to different representatives on the phone, nothing gets resolved. It's been a huge waste of energy and time to the point I'm starting to regret going to this urgent care in the first place. If you decide to go to this urgent care, be prepared for a billing headache that will haunt you for several months after the visit.
This place sucks. Every time I come here I make an online appointment and there’s no other patients in there. I still have to wait at least 20 min by myself in the room while I hear the PA and other assistants chat about their lives and then finally decide to attend me. The staff takes so little consideration to their patient’s health and time it makes the experience very frustrating. It is very convenient but would highly recommend to go elsewhere if you want to receive proper and timely medical care because in here you will likely just waste your time and the staff is not interested in making you feel better.
