Dr. Templar and her team are wonderful. Spent a lot of time with me, understood the grief and anxiety of my situation and made a plan that felt safe for me when it came time for me to switch epilepsy medication. Seizure free a year now, thanks to Dr. Templar, her team, and modern chemistry.
Ignore the bad reviews, they were just left by Karens. This place is amazing with some of the best doctors in the country. Sadly most people just use this platform as a form of revenge and only leave reviews when angry. Northwestern has thousands of patients and when I am writing this only 12 people left reviews before me but sadly, this has become the norm.
Terrible communication. Rarely ever get calls back after leaving voicemails. Each time we call we get different messages. Need to start recording these calls cause someone is incompetent or lying
I went see the neurologist and after he checked my arms out, he sent me for a blood test. After a few weeks, someone called and said the blood results were good, I got efficient vitamin B so I am all good... That's it. No follow-ups, no instructions where I should go next to treat the constant pain on my arms. My arms are getting weaker and weaker and I have no clue what's wrong with them. Doc asked me what job I did, I said IT and he told me it probably came from computer work without giving me a solution for treatment or next step for more testing or PT or whatever. I left the place with just a co-pay receipt in my hand and that's it! I am so fearful that the nerves on my arms are getting more deteriorated without getting a treatment while having no clue what's wrong with me. I told him I had cancelled my gym because I no longer could lift more than 10 pounds. Such a waste of time and expensive co-pay for nothing. I will report to my insurance.
The “best” hospital in chicago is also the worst when it comes to getting appointments. It’s obvious that More doctors and practices need to be established Vs participating in the horrendous engineering of scarcity vs working on improving the sociology of USA. To get an appointment takes 3 months!! You Have to suffer for that amount of time before you are seen if it’s not an “emergency to dial 911”… this is beyond bizzare that a hospital in a city with a large population hasn’t found a way to hire more doctors to help people. Half the time, the symptoms change and then you don’t get validation because Some doctors are one dimensional and have to see it to validate it. Very backwards organization. Mass production models are becoming outdated and we need to improve americas outdated healthcare system!! Having issues with nerves leads to a very uncomfortable and unproductive state. This discomfort also leads to depression …. This could ALL be avoided if there was effective and efficient scheduling.# end scarcity engineering in healthcare!!!
I have had Dr. Schuele and a previous neurologist Dr. Aggarwal that no longer works there, which is good as he misdiagnosed me and I had more seizures as a result. I went to a different country to get properly diagnosed, and when I presented them with my diagnosis of epilepsy they still did not believe me and made me go the EMU again. It is near impossible to work with my team to get my medications in time for me to not have withdrawals. Nurse Danneta has told me she is submitting my prescription for a week and never did, and now I am in a severe pickle as I am leaving the country for a month and she never did anything about it. I will be seeking a new neurologist at a different practice now.
Dr Macken is a great doctor. Good luck seeing him. Have had an appointment scheduled for over 8 months, it was supposed to be late August. NW called me to say he was no longer available and to call back to reschedule. I call and the next available appointment with Dr Macken is next May. I request a nurse to call me, they say they will within 48 hours…no call. This is not the first time that has happened. Getting a response on their MyNM app is hit or miss at best. Refill extensions have been a phone tag nightmare. The list keeps growing. My initial care was great. I am starting to look into other hospitals.
I made an appointment over a month ago, so see Resident Sarah Brooker. Today, after waiting over a month already, I got a call that she canceled my appointment with NO reason given. I will be contacting her superior. She's still in training and canceling appointment after being scheduled over a month? What a joke! BTW: the next available appointment wasn't for MONTHS. I will be going elsewhere.
3 stars for the practice due to issues with the other neurologists, but 5 stars for dr Edith Graham. If you go here, make sure to see her only. She is incredibly responsive, kind, empathetic, and truly cares for her patient base. Dr Roumen Balabanov and Dr Cohen leave much to be desired but dr graham is a true gem of a dr and Northwestern is lucky to have her.
My most favorite space for things medical. Its well run, has excellent doctors, and great communication via an app.
