A native of Oak Park and River Forest, Dr. Romano has been caring for patients in his hometown since 1992. When he isn't in his office or the operating room, you may find him working on the sidelines of a local sporting event. Dr. Romano also volunteers his medical expertise and time globally. Within days of the disaster in Haiti, he traveled to St. Damien's Children's Hospital near the epicenter, caring for and operating on hundreds of devastated earthquake victims. He regularly joins orthopaedic medical brigades at the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos orphanage in Honduras.
Following graduation from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Romano earned his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. During his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, he had the opportunity to specialize in sports medicine at the University of Wisconsin. As the Mid-America Traveling Resident, Dr. Romano gained additional sports medicine expertise with the University of Notre Dame team physicians of South Bend Orthopaedics.
Dr. Romano is a clinical affiliate faculty member at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as a team physician for Fenwick High School, Dominican University, and several other local schools. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Romano has a subspecialty in orthopaedic sports medicine.
