Had an account for less than a year, they closed my account after I asked my sales rep who was condescending from the get go to stop calling me when I email her. Their internal policy apparently requires staff to call instead of responding to emails, which feels very much like they don't want a record of a conversation. I've honestly not had any good experiences with anyone I've interacted with at this company, which is funny considering their supposed stance on kindness. It seems like they have an awful internal culture based on both my experience as well as the other reviews here - all the five star reviews seem to be from either prospective or current employees, all the one star reviews from actual customers. While I'm annoyed my account was closed without my consent, I think it is ultimately a better experience for me in the long term instead of fighting with a company trying to keep its sales tactics in the 1980s. I'm glad I came to the reviews and see that it's not just a "me" issue, and happy to see the suggestions for competitors who aren't such a misery to work eith.
Not at all small business friendly. Closed our account as well as stated by others. Reason given was not answering our phone when called by our sales rep. We always stated that email was a better option of communicating as we had to close our store front due to the pandemic and move all our selling to online. A very disappointing experience! Would not recommend as a distributor for small shop owners.
For a company that touts its kindness policy I’ve never met such a mean spirited group. We didn’t complain during Covid when they couldn’t fulfill their orders. They certainly do not want to do business with smaller shops. Their mission statement is a lie.
As others have mentioned after a time of either little or no business through a lockdown they now closed my account and they feel I am not worth their time. I had an account for over 10 years and was a very good customer. Very disappointing. Instead of a hand up you get a kick in the face. Thanks for nothing.
Looking for a supportive company - KEEP LOOKING! This company surprise considers you inactive, and closes your account, if you don't place an order within 30 days of set up. My experience with Notions Marketing ‘Sales Support’ team has been the WORST customer service I have ever received. Unprofessional. Unresponsive. Disrespectful. Notions incorrectly addressed my order and shipped it out to another country – where it is undeliverable. Accidents happen. People make mistakes but the mark of one’s character is in how they make things right afterward. In this case, the Sales Support team refused to update me on the status of my order, refused to make any attempt to fix the situation, and refused to take any tangible accountability for their mistake. I have reached out to the team many times both by email and by phone trying to figure out what is going on with my order and why no one is willing to help me. I have been shouted out by Lewis Kaplan, told ‘I don’t want to speak to you’, been referred to by someone else’s name, been ‘accused’ of typing emails on a phone which I didn’t do but also didn’t know was a crime and flat out ignored both by him and by his superior Tessa Engstrom. The whole situation is so unbelievable I can’t help but feel like something more devious may be going on here – it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a brown-skinned woman, with a foreign name, has her grievances ignored. I am a small business that can’t afford to pay for Notions Sales Support team’s mistakes and it is unfair to ask me to. Beware of this business.
Been working there for three years ..the management could use some improvements but it's a decent place to work
I’m very disappointed in this place to the fact that discriminated someone who went trough the whole hiring process and everything was all good until the individual went in for their first day and they treated the individual poorly to the point they accuse this person of smelling like marijuana and terminated that person before this individual could start their first day nobody else that was their at the same time of this individual was treated like this... this individual was rudely spoken to... this individual was falsely accused also this individual didn’t feel welcome to their place of employment this individual feel centered out by way this person looks/dressed smh very bad company and terrible people in human Resource!!!!
I was referred to them by a fabric store for an item the fabric store did not carry. So I call them. I get that they only sell to businesses. So I asked them who they sell to so I can check with those businesses. She could not tell me. She could not even tell me if they carry the product I was looking for. Absolutely Useless!!!
