Nova*s Bakery

Great little coffee shop. The pastry I had was delicious! I dont know how much business they get, however after I ordered my food, a lot of people came in while the lady was making my food. They waited quite a bit while she prepared my food and a customer prior to me. There was only one person working, they would have benefited from having 2 people.

Nice little coffee shop. Good seating areas, friendly seize. Awesome coffee! Fresh baked goods, breakfast, snacks and light lunch/dinner options.

This was my first visit to Nova’s bakery. For a Saturday afternoon it was not busy at all and so was able to go in and come out quickly.The customer service was great, the business was clean and tidy. The ambiance was a very relaxed and homey vibe which could be great solo or with friends. I opted for something classic with my beverage and chose the white mocha latte. It was very tasty and presented nicely as well. For the bakery item I tried the seasonal scone which consisted of spinach, feta and tomatoes. The scone was very fresh and had a nice soft but crunchy consistency. Overall the scone was neat and very good. I would recommend this place to others and I would stop by this location again!

Not a bad small chain bakery. I don't believe they bake much/anything here; instead, it's trucked in fresh from another Charlotte location. That doesn't decrease the quality...maybe takes something away from the atmosphere compared to a place that bakes in-house. But otherwise has the typical bakery/coffee shop atmosphere and clientele. Good selection of bakery items and coffee varieties. Prices are fair.

Coffee was good, London fog was on point! The egg & cheese on the croissant was certainly hot and fresh. we really enjoyed our time at the spot and come to find out I didn't know they had a PokeStop at the location and that was a great surprise.

Great coffee and a good deserts/food. If you like exploring cool coffee shops that aren't your basic Starbucks then this is a place for you. I've been here for coffee meetings, coffee runs, or to just have a little fun with their chess/checkers set and relax.

First time I’ve ever been to this bakery/coffee shop. Walked in and the barista was brewing coffee straight into a cup. Took a while, second customer in line asked for his order and was told they didn’t have milk. After my 5 to 10 minute wait, I ordered a ham egg and cheese on a croissant and was told that they didn’t have any croissants. Have you ever heard of a bakery and coffee shop that doesn’t have croissants or milk? The barista seem nice but he was fairly apathetic. It seems like we have an absentee manager? Well, I know not to go back. Such is life.

Hot tea bagged not loose leaf selection is pleasantly surprising. Seating area is inviting and clean. Plenty of flavored and non-flavored coffee beans to buy by the half or full pound. No matter what time of day I go the different staff members I've encountered look bored, annoyed, and seem checked out of being there. It makes me not want to stop in at all even if only to check out the day old pastries on sale.

Understaffed consistently. New staff don’t know how to make basic drinks such as a Frappe or a Caramel Macchiato. The bad part is they don’t say they don’t know, they say we don’t have that. Please, please, please don’t let new staff work on their own without being properly trained and without hardly knowing English. It makes their life very frustrating and I don’t get what I came for. Used to love Nova’s, but over the last year or so the Matthews location has become just plain awful. Do not recommend them at all. I’ll just go to Starbucks from now on.
