As a senior citizen 75 I have experienced a lot of hospitals, some good and others very poor. At Novant Health Forsyth I found the friendliest, most helpful staff I have ever encountered. The doctors, nurses and other staff would not stop before they were sure you understood. On check in the lady left her desk and walked me to the hallway I needed and told me to enter the fifth door on the right. This was a preview of the way I would be treated throughout my stay. Care was excellent, this will be my first choice in the future. And of course, many thanks to my daughters for getting me there and back safely.
Nicky in imaging registration is a joy. Everyone that I observed her working with, she was kind, upbeat and caring. Novant you should clone her. Almost everyone we have dealt with through my mom's cancer has been great. Also big shout out to Dr. Sullivan, he is a great and caring doctor. Going through cancer is hard, but Novant has made it a better experience. Dr Moreb and all the nursing staff in hematology were amazing thanks so much. You are truly remarkable people
I will never have a child born at this facility ever again. Absolutely terrible experience. Came preregistered with my doctor waiting in the birthing room and was still asked to go to the billing department prior to being admitted while going through contractions only minutes apart. Birthing room was fine, birthing tub is the most uncomfortable tub I had ever sat in, then you’re moved to the oldest and nastiest rooms in the entire building. In addition to the terrible rooms, the billing department has no idea what they are doing. After calling and speaking with them 3 times, my insurance was kind enough to call and handle it. Which still took the insurance company and myself calling multiple times until they finally billed correctly. Then, they pediatrician started billing separately, which has taken almost an entire year, another 4 calls, and needing to contact the insurance used at the time for them to bill correctly. This hospital is so much more stress than it’s worth, the rooms and bathrooms are dirty, and the “comfortable beds for dad” are a lie. Go anywhere else!!
I came in the hospital with sepsis the thing that I do not appreciate about this Hospital is how when family members are with you the medical staff acts accordingly but when you are alone the medical staff does not do their job correctly when I was admitted to the hospital my grandmother stayed with me a few nights and the medical staff at night did their job accordingly. Same thing with my mother when my mom stayed a few nights with me the medical staff at night did their job correctly. However when family is not around the medical staff especially night shift are extremely slow and some of them do not do their job accordingly. There was one occasion where I had to use the bathroom and I was not able to get up I called for the nurse to assist me and they took a very long time to get to me. I understand that they may be short staff but if there is anyone available I would think that they would help their patients get to the restroom. I ended up having an accident on the bed due to someone not coming to my Aid to help me get to the restroom. There was another occasion where my fever was very high I was in a lot of pain and the nurse gave me pain medication but she never came back to check on me to see if my pain was under control. Lastly, I did not appreciate how some nurses were neglectful. I was given too much medication in my portacath to the point where I thought I was having a stroke. In the end I believe this Hospital needs some improvements no one should have to wait hours to be seen in the ER for certain problems. And even if they are short staff if someone is available they should be able to help their patients in a timely manner. If I ever get sick and have to go to the hospital I will not be coming here. There were a handful of doctors and nurses who cared for me who were amazing but the majority of people who worked with me who were nurses and nurse aids especially during the night shift we're not good I hope in the future that they will do better for their patients but I will not be coming back to this hospital if I ever get sick again
Hello my name is Jennifer and on February 6, 2023 for my first time dealing with Forsyth. I had a angiogram with Dr. Harris and I have to say that being new to North Carolina and not being aware of any of the doctors or facilities. This was an amazing experience I am very grateful for the care and concern I received from the whole team that took care of me. Dr. Harris is wonderful has a great bedside manner very caring and took Very good care of me made sure everything was overlooked and done. And also the nurses that took care of me were absolutely phenomenal. Pam, Bree and Anna really do wonderful at their job and forsyth Should be grateful to have them as employees. Pam really want to step further to make me feel relaxed in time before my procedure because I was very nervous seeing as I have had a heart issues in the past and she was there for me when I got done with the procedure and was just so caring and helpful with everything until my discharge. Honestly, it felt great to know that I had a place that made me feel so comfortable and not a burden because I have been to places that do that…. and being new here as I said, it’s just a great feeling and now I know where to go when I need care. Thank you very much for everything that you guys did for me and of course I hope I don’t have any further heart issues, but in the fact that I do, I am very happy, knowing that I can return to your facility and know that I am in good God bless you all you truly are amazing medical personnel and human beings
My husband had major brain surgery on November 15, 2022 and he was taken to a room afterwards. The nurses and physicians was all wonderful. My complaint is that when I called the next morning he had not been served breakfast, so I kept checking in with him and still no breakfast so around noon he called the kitchen about wanting a meal and he asked at that time why he wasn’t served breakfast and they said he was, when he really wasn’t. So they checked in to it and realized he and 3 others in his area was missed being served breakfast. They told him they would bring his lunch right up, at 12:40 still no food so I called the kitchen and asked for a manager and I talked to Jack he assured me my husband would have a meal within 10 minutes, well at 1:15 still no food. After my husband, his daughter and myself and talking with multiple people he was finally served lunch at 1:45pm. To me this is uncalled for and I feel sorry for the other patients that did not receive their breakfast and I hope they received their lunch. If you have love ones staying here please check on them and make sure they are being fed. I had to get off work which is a hour away with plans to pick up food on my way over because he wasn’t being fed.
I don’t know where to start first of all referring to a lot of the bad reviews posted this is a hospital not a resort just like almost all the hospitals in the country are very short staffed after Covid.I had major lower back surgery on Thursday and got out on Friday. I just wanted to thank everyone from my surgeon Dr.Wagner the nurses all the way down to the transporters.Everyone was very professional and caring my room was clean even the food was decent for hospital food. I was well taking care of the entire time I was there.
I have now had the second horrible experience at this "hospital" emergency room. My sister was there 2 weeks ago. Malnourished and disoriented. After almost 24 hours in the emergency room, they admitted her. 2 days later they send her home saying there is nothing they can do. It's all in her head. This week, she was admitted to a different hospital. She is on a feeding tube and taking physical therapy to help her walk again. The doctors here have said it's a good thing she came in when she did or she wouldn't have made it.
The level of care and patience of the medical staff especially the nurses was absolutely phenomenal. My surgery went well, I was informed of absolutely everything throughout the entire process. I was listened to and responded to courteously by everyone. I have never been to a hospital or medical facility and felt so safe and understood as I did here. Thank you so much. Your staff is so appreciated by me.
The security was a little extreme, the went through my personal effects. I get it. But what I don't understand is why they opened my wallet pulled all my cards out looked at them then crammed all my identities back in my wallet all jumbled up. They went through my personal bag, pulled out my underwear and socks, I have never had this kind of treatment ever!, not even the airports was this rude. They were white, I am a black woman. 56,working for the city of ws.I will not say which department. But I do intend on furthering this issue of your untrained security you have working the emergency room doors. They were very much out of place. Considering I only stepped out for a moment to my car. I was checked by the first security guards who were well trained and didn't embarrass me by treating me badly and rude. What type of weapon does one hide in there wallet?
