I had a procedure done, everything went well and my nurse Dorothy who helped get me prepped was one of the best nurses I have ever had!! The whole team was the best and kept myself and the person with me updated the whole time. Would highly recommend, such amazing workers here! Thank you so much Dorothy for making me laugh and helping me get prepared! :
Interesting that my review was taken down. Was bringing up an incident my child and myself has with their overnight security team. We parked in the wrong area and were targeted and harassed by their female security guard and then later a male. We simply parked in the wrong area and were trying to find the main door. It was raining and when we had just found the main entrance. We were ordered to walk back through the rain and move our car. When I questioned why. The female guard called for "backup". Apparently a father carrying his sick daughter was enough to get this woman so angry she had to call in for who I can only assume was her supervisor or superior. When the male approached me, I tried to explain myself. He nearly shoulder checked me as well. I called the incident into the main number and talked to someone on the security team at their main location in Charlotte. Doubt anything was done. So patients. Beware. Don't park in the wrong area. And if you see a security guard approaching in their vehicle. Just put your hands up. They will otherwise harrass you and try to physically touch you.
I came here on 7/8/23 extremely ill with colitis. I've never been through anything like it. It was horrible. The nurses, providers and rest of staff did an excellent job taking care of me. One nurse stood out more than the others. Her name was Kathi and was the sweetest and caring nurse. She choose the right field! She worked on 7/12 and 7/13
I had my baby scheduled c section March 21. The nurse that took care of me during my surgery was the best nurse and everyone else in the operating room. The nurses in the morning are good. The nurse assistant Nicole was okay she didn’t seem to wanna help me at all. The night nurses are okay. I didn’t have the best experience here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to have a baby here! I wanted to go home right away because I didn’t feel comfortable at this hospital! I did speak with the manager and she did seem to care about what I told her but I still wouldn’t come back to this hospital!
I am writing this complaint to express my deep dissatisfaction and serious concerns regarding the care provided by Novant Health Hospital Huntersville. My father, who is 86 years old, was admitted to the Intermediate ICU step down unit on July 2, 2023. The nurses, CNAs, and medical team initially led by Dr. Heller was outstanding. Dr. Heller was extremely attentive and willing to go above and beyond to ensure no stone was left unturned to get to the root of his problem. My father was admitted to the hospital on June 14, 2023 with pneumonia and severe COPD complications. The hospitalist at that time discharged him to a skilled nursing facility and did not realize that my father was not able to swallow, chew or close his lips properly, thus, food was going into his lungs instead of his stomach. Dr. Heller noticed something was off with my father's swallowing and ordered the appropriate assessments and that's when it was discovered that my father failed every area and had no ability to swallow, etc. Unfortunately, the level of care and the treatment we have experienced since then have been highly disappointing and concerning. The first issue I would like to address is the sudden and unexplained room transfer my father endured this morning at 1:30 AM. Despite being previously informed that the medical surgical floors were ill-equipped to handle patients with complex medical complications, including my father's feeding tube, we were told that the room was needed for other purposes which was not true because no patient was in right after him. This abrupt transfer caused great confusion and distress to my father, as he woke up disoriented and unaware of his new location within the hospital. It is unacceptable that such a significant decision was made without providing any information or reassurance to the patient or notifying the family that such a change had been made to his level of care. Moreover, the lack of communication and coordination among the hospital staff is alarming. When I attempted to contact a nurse by calling the main number, I was transferred to my father's assigned nurse who had no knowledge of his identity or the reasons for his room transfer. This demonstrates a severe lack of professionalism and proper information dissemination within the hospital's staff members. As a concerned family member, I expect clear and accurate communication about my father's condition and care. Furthermore, I discovered that the monitoring of my father's heart, crucial due to his ongoing AFib condition, was not being adequately performed because the staff encountered difficulties in setting up the necessary monitor. This negligence puts my father's health and well-being at risk. Considering his severe COPD, which can cause dangerous drops in oxygen levels if not closely monitored, it is imperative that his medical needs are attended to with the utmost care and attention. During my conversation with the attending physician and the case manager, neither of them mentioned the room transfer, indicating a significant breakdown in communication within the healthcare team. Additionally, it was brought to my attention that my father had not received visits from the speech therapist for several days which is documented in his medical chart, despite his need for assessment and treatment related to tongue weakness and swallowing difficulties. This oversight raises serious concerns about the overall competency and attention to detail provided by the hospital's staff. These instances, along with numerous other concerns, have left me deeply troubled and disappointed with the level and quality of care provided by Novant Health Hospital Huntersville. The lack of accountability, communication, and professionalism exhibited by some of the hospital staff is simply unacceptable. It is disheartening to find no one readily available to address patient and family concerns promptly. I sincerely hope that this complaint reaches the appropriate individuals in the hospital's administration.
Novant Hospital in Huntersville rated tops in my book when I recently received a cardiac outpatient procedure. My nurse, Ashley, was particularly kind, helpful and professional.
I’m here with my sister now who is currently in labor. The staff here has been amazing, helpful, encouraging, and super friendly. If I had a question about anything they answered them in detail. If we were nervous about something the staff was fully supportive and kind. If your going to have a baby this is the place to come!!
My daughter had her baby boy here early this morning May 5th and all the staff were truly amazing. My daughter’s nurse was just wonderful, kind and patience in helping my daughter with the labor and delivery. She really help my daughter who was a first time mom get through this amazing experience!
Had my right hip replaced at this facility a week ago and found Huntersville Novant hospital to be excellent. Everything was on time, the facility was clean and new looking, and the staff was very very caring and easy to work with. I believe we are very lucky to have a Hospital of this quality so nearby for people that live in Cornelius.
My last experience at novant for surgery was not as pleasant as previous experiences. I was put under additional stress I didn't need from the initial nursing staff. I had just been in a couple weeks ago for another procedure with no problem. This time my husband was not allowed to go with me until the nursing staff could "set me up". All they did was run my BP up and left bruises on my arms and should know by now that when you talk outside a patients door they can hear you. They would not listen to what I was telling them they were very determined it would be their way. Which me knowing my body much better than they did proved them wrong but I suffered with unnecessary pain. Once they left me alone, I will say the or nurse, or staff and the Annestesia staff were excellent. The discharge nurse was nice and helpful. The discharge info sheet was not very thorough Google was much better. Would suggest novants print off there instructions from a reputable hospital as I did. I have worked n health care as my husband for years and I did not appreciate the nurse duo trying to bully me. And if my drs weren't with novant I would go elsewhere.
