It's a money grab- as other people have said. I was ticketed after paying via the ParkMobile App. When I began the process of contesting the ticket, I discovered the only way to do so is to show up in person during working hours. It's not right to take advantage of people this way. I will certainly not be visiting this place or spending my money here in the future. There are plenty of other ways to generate revenue for your village that don't involve scummy practices like this.
The guy who gives out tickets thinks he’s a cop but he’s not. Guy has zero human decency and gets a high off of handing out tickets to residents. Pathetic human being for real too dumb to be a cop. Go be mad at the world in a different way
They are the reason that many people, including myself, stay away from Nyack. They are scammers and thieves. Even the police officers, who are separate from the parking authority, know this. Even if you are fully paid on their parking meters, you'll still get a ticket and, when you try to contest it, they'll just ignore you unless you are willing to take a day off from work and travel to Nyack village court to fight it.
This city government office is worse than trash. At least with trash you can recycle, but this office has no conscious whatsoever. Where in any major city let alone village where you have to pay parking 24 hours a day? The village is dirty with rodent infestation. There's shooting in the municipal parking lot. No functioning lights at night. The officials are so top heavy, that they justify squeezing blood out of it's residents. You all should take a pay cut for 6 months at least, if you want to help your institutions. No instead you want to squeeze every penny out of the village residents. Shame on you all. The wickedness of this office.
Was out to dinner in the Village of Nyack and when I returned I discovered a parking violation ticket on my car. Upon parking I used my mobile application Park Mobile which recorded my license plate, time and date. I allowed for 2 1/2 hours in the meter and only used 1 1/2 hours. Now I have to fight a ticket that I never should have received in the first place. I live in NJ which makes this even more difficult. Not Happy I wish people would learn their jobs in how to read a mobile application before issuing tickets!!!
Corrupt. They give you a parking ticket in error-you have to go there and ask for a court date-you can't make it because you hold a job- the violation increases after a certain date so guess you have to just pay it..plus the $3.50 convenience fee.
Absolutely avoid parking anywhere downtown if possible. I fought a ticket in court and won because of a damaged sign only to continue to go back and forth with the office for over a year about a ticket that was dismissed by the judge. Also, do not for any reason believe the “15 minutes free parking”- there’s nothing free about the ticket you’ll get in that window of time. You’ll pay one way or the other- in time, energy, or money.
I paid for parking as shown on my debit card statement, received a ticket for not paying for parking it was $1.50, so now I have to take a 1/2 day off of work to go to court as compared to sending the proof of payment for parking..does one take 1/2 day from work or pay $15.00 bucks. Ridiculious!
These people are literally the reason I never come to this town anymore. The people who run this village are nothing but money hungry con artists that take advantage of everyone. The corruption in this town is very real. I regret visiting nearly every time I come.
I had a half hour on my payment and got a ticket! Nothing like incompetent people wasting your time. I’ll never come back here!
