I was walking down Sutphin Boulevard when I came across the Queens Supreme Court Building and decided to walk in. Security was friendly and helpful. Electronics are allowed into the building but use is restricted in certain areas. Wifi could get a little spotty. I noticed street parking - metered - was available when you get there around 11a. There was a kiosk with important visitor information I placed in the photos. Be sure to have a look before tour next trip to this beautifully modernize facility. Best to you.
Entering the court house, the officers were very helpful and kind. Answer all my questions politely. Except for the lady at widow 6.
Everyone was very nice to me when I went in to file some papers, from the guards, to the notaries, court help and eFile staff. The only person who had an attitude and was rude was the cashier.
It's now 8 months and counting since I filed an uncontested, no children divorce and to date not a word. I called last month to check on the case and the clerk who responded was very rude. Why is an uncontested divorce taking 9-12 months. It's like poor people are being punished for wanting to get out of bad relationships.
I had a pleasant experience today. I came after lunch time about 2 pm on Friday and went to the court clerk to get some documents. The guys at the entrance were very friendly and nice. The staff at the clerk room is very helpful too. Thank you!!
Their website needs to update the hours it is open/ when it closes for their lunch hours since the court house close to go to lunch from 12:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and many people do not know that. By doing this, people do not waste their time coming in and waiting more than an hour or so, such as I did today. I took the time out of my busy schedule to come here but found it closed. Please take this into consideration. Thanks
Room106, hard copy filing, the middle aged female white worker is very very rude I don't know her name, seems they just enjoy chatting and lauging. Didn't help a bit. The kind elder lady helped eventually. The cashier guy is always nice and helpful. Hope more staff have kindness in their heart, especially working here
Today was a wonderful day, I thought they changed some employees or maybe do sorry if somr of then died for covid , because all the reviews said bad things about this court. But today everyone was helping a lot. Only the security was really rude in front the door doing the checking temperature and others stuff.
The woman in the matrimonial office is the laziest , most unhelpful person in that court and needs to be fired. I went there in October and handed her part A of my divorce. I know with 100% certainty she was the one who accepted the papers, she was new at the time, transfer from another court you know who you are!. Came back another day to submit part B and she says they never received part A and I had to redo everything. Luckily I had copies and records , she was just too lazy to look. Then she didn't even look at the forms I had filed out for part B. Told me automatically they were wrong without even moving her large behind to check. Just completely lazy and useless. I stepped out to double check my paperwork and sure enough I had ALL the necessary forms. When I returned she was no where to be found . She walked right past me and a couple of others who were waiting and just ignored us. Until a lawyer who was also waotiwa told us we had to dial a special phone to call her. I was going to take her name to write a formal complain but another person returned in her place and was much more pleasant. She is really the worst acting like she's doing the public a favor. Our tax dollars pay these peoples salary!!! You have ONE job, lady. Sitting there all day and checking forms. You can't even do that. Completely useless .
People at this court are super rude! They misplace documents, they are not organized, they just lose important documents. One day, I took them some docs. And later on the month, I went to check on the file case. The docs were missing! They argued that I never took them to their office. Which is not true! they ARE SIMPLY CARELESS! They don't pick up phone calls, or return them. My personal experience with the staff on the 7th floor specially are very disappointing and upsetting. If it wasn't because, we need to go there sometimes, I would never visit this place ever again!
