Has a lot of potential. Nice variety of trees. Deserves more resources towards landscaping, pond/lake cleaning, humane population control of geese & ducks. Overall it's a nice, much needed park for the community.
Stopped by to stretch our legs on a drive home from Sacramento to Salinas. We couldn’t have imagined how large this park was. Plenty of space in a Sunday afternoon to grill, have a birthday party, exercise, or just take a leisurely stroll. There are ducks and geese all over the lake. There was an advertisement for paddle boats, but we didn’t see any in use. $6 for parking didn’t break the bank. We really joyed the tranquility.
This park was a lot of fun for kids. There's a children's playground, a museum of nature and history and the restroom is conveniently located near the museum and entrance. There are plenty of picnic tables and park benches for everyone.
Lots to do here! One of the best parks in the Stockton area. Fishing hiking exploring disc golf nature center picnic areas pavilions pretty much has it all. Enjoy coming here & exploring the back trails for all kinds of animals. .
Nice park with trails to walk and enjoy nature. Nice disc golf course. Good playgrounds. You can fish or feed the ducks or geese. Always a good time.
The freeway right next door make its incredibly hard to immense yourself in nature. Regardless, its a very nice regional park with a good variety of activities and trails. Playground: There are two okay-ish children's playgrounds. One of them is in pretty mediocre condition as the swing set is missing its swings, and the area just looks generally unpleasant. Picnic area: There are PLENTY of picnic areas
Beautiful park, could use some landscaping and some love to the property! Clean bathrooms , plenty of parking space. I attended a family reunion there and we had a great time. The kids even got to see the geese walking around it was a nice time! Playground: Playground a little run down could use some love on that area for the children but they enjoyed themselves nonetheless! Restrooms: Clean and had soap in the bathrooms!!! Picnic area: Big spacious picnic areas!!
Went to play discgolf and it was fun. Park is fairly maintained. Saw about two pretty big gopher snakes there and A LOT of holes in the ground so just be careful if you're walking around the field. Park is pretty big so its great for hosting your own events and not too close to other people who are also doing their own events. Restrooms: Restrooms are a Lil dirty but it's a Park restroom so it's to be expected. Picnic area: There are areas with tables under roofs and also random tables lying around along with bbq grills.
I took my dog Bonnie there today! She had a great time. It would've been nice to walk on the nature trails but there are no dog walking signs around which is understandable we have to conserve the nature life there. As a kid my dad would bring the family to Oak Grove for his company luncheons and I remember always having a great time, riding on the paddle boats, and playing catch with my dad. It cost $5 plus $1 if you bring pets. I do plan on coming back to walk the trails unfortunately Bonnie is going to have to sit this one out.
We love this park, gives you lots of activities to do with the kids, if you're on a budget, the ducks and geese are adorable, we have interacted with a few that have imprinted on our family, the pond and trail's are fun there's always a adventure when we go hiking on the trails, there's also a stage and the kids love it always coming up with plays to put on. There's also rocks for the kids to climb on, so much nature right near home. So if you're looking for a park that has it all this is your spot. Playground: Playgrounds are clean and safe, and you don't have to worry much, they're a few of them scattered around the park. My kids love it here, and hopefully your kids will enjoy it also. Restrooms: They're ok a lot better then most places but it's always best to bring extra toilet paper, just in case. We already bring disinfectant and soap for hands. Dog-friendliness: Yes I have seen a lot of Dogs on leashes. Alot of friends people and my kids love asking to pet the doggies we have even seen cats on leashes. Picnic area: Love the different area's to have a picnic, just keep in mind alot of ducks poop on the ground, so it's best to bring a rake and clear the area, before putting a blanket down, also bring table cloths if using a picnic table.
