What began as 6 moms and kids getting together for coffee and playtime back in '99 has grown! For all members past and present - who want to reconnect and catch up on all that has happened with our group....

Description

Our centre has various programs including, multicultural programs (Spanish, Syrian, Japanese, German, Newcomers); food bank, community garden, counselling support group, utility bill payments, financial literacy, Seniors, reading club. We run infant, toddler, preschool and youth programs. We also have an affordable school readiness program and dance classes. We provide free or affordable space to a number of local agencies and businesses to run family programming like La Leche League, Scouts, Halton Down Syndrome, Wee Hands, Music Theater, Support & Housing, ROCK, Halton healthcare, CYAN, Autism Ontario.

I have lived in the Oak Park Community for over 5 years. I feel lucky to have such an incredible, safe,  and positive place that provides for our for our community. I was able to gain experience volunteering for my hours for high school. I continue to volunteer for many different kinds of events throughout the years. I was also able to meet other members of the community. This Centre has helped me tremendously. I am very thankful for the Oak Park Neighbourhood centre and all their staff.  Spencer

I had the wonderful opportunity to attended a few Indigenous workshops facilitated by Sarah at Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre. It was such a beautiful space to learn in and very welcoming. The staff were very kind. The workshops were full of teachings and such a wonderful experience to learn from the Elders as well as the other facilitators. I would love to attend more events there! Very grateful to have come across such a welcoming and inclusive space!

Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre is the most caring, inclusive centre I have ever visited. Each staff carries and shares an enormous level of compassion, and their doors are truly always open to provide warmth, comfort and help towards the public. I would not have had the opportunities I have now to become a better version of myself if it weren't for OPNC supporting me. In a perfect world, every city would have meaningful organizations such as this one.

My family has been part of the Oak Park community for the past 6 years. We have had the opportunity to benefit from many of the OPNC programs and services. We have always found the staff to be helpful and professional. We feel privileged to have this great resource in our community!

I've been to a handful of Indigenous workshops here, hosted by Sarah S! With each event and workshop, I fell in love with the sense of community and connectedness! I loved every minute of being present with oneself and with the surroundings around me. I looked forward to each event to attend and I hope there will be more! OPNC is a great location for wellness and community!

There is not a more caring agency anywhere. The entire team would literally bend over backwards to help anyone who needs it no matter what their financial or social situation is. They have an amazing facility that they share with the entire community and a wonderful hub for our North Oakville Community.  I am proud to be a volunteer and charter member of this organization that I am immensely proud of. It is impossible to properly describe OPNC here in words, you have to experience it to understand what a special place it is.

Hi, Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre is the only place where you walk in and no question isn't answered.  It's a place when I needed someone to talk to after my seperation.  They have Wednesday's group's that was recommended to me.  I went , and it was empowering.  It's a place when you are in need of food.  It's there for our youth, and our children. I thank you Michelle Knoll for having a place like Oak Park in our community!

Love the •Just be you• group. Very friendly staff friendly environment. Perfect for relaxing and conversation I’ve relaxed enough to connect to my creative side and painted all of these thanks to this group held here

Oak Park is an excellent facility, with caring and thoughtful staff. Always clean and bright, with weekend availability for room rentals. Front desk staff is extremely knowledgeable and able to give lots of information about programs at the centre as well as local connections. Food bank is very welcoming, and provides ample food for its local families in need.
