Oakland First Fridays Event is the epicenter for community to come together to celebrate, sustain & support the arts and Oaklands creative economy.
This street festival grew out of the wonderful Oakland Art Murmur gallery crawl, which runs each First Friday. The event is now managed by and as part of the non-profit group KONO, the community benefit district. The goals of bringing art to and enriching the community are at the heart of this event.
This monthly arts event welcomes visitors to experience Oakland as a unique urban destination celebrating the arts, creativity, food, the entrepreneurial spirit, cultural investment, growth and innovation.

To preserve Oakland First Fridays as an all inclusive, safe and vital community-driven platform to showcase the emerging artists, makers, gourmet food vendors, musicians, cypher circles (dance battles, spoken word), drumming circles, acrobats, magicians, and many uniquely talented street performers and their audience.
