My stepson bought six gift certificates order #201643 for $720. They were for the women in our family so they can go to the Oasis spa for Mother’s day and receive services, particularly a social group manicure/pedicure, and spa packages they had there in the past. But, when the women tried to set up their appointments they found things have materially and substantially changed. For example, due to staffing shortages only two staff that can do nails at a time. After my stepdaughter called twice, and I called four times 5/23/2016, 5/24, 5/25 and 5/26, Brenda the owner did get in touch with me. The result is Oasis is unable to give services that women in our family have received in the past. They are also unwilling to give a refund of any kind. She stated a no refund policy on the website that I imagine is there, but was unable to find after scrutiny. I do now see a link to a refund policy on the actual gift certificates after purchase. Brenda also said to paraphrase it was either too complicated or the mechanics did not exist to give a refund so we can go somewhere else. I’m not sure I followed the line of reasoning here, but that was my attempt to communicate it. When I said I would be forced to contact the BBB, Yelp, and consider small claims court, she said this was OK, the no refund policy was clear on the website and her attorneys had thoroughly reviewed it.
I would not suggest to go to Oasis Day Spa. There needs to be new ownership, or complete overhaul of the service employees. First, I was very happy with the massage I had. However, the facial was not good. I was uncomfortable and wet the whole time because they would not let me change out of my wet bathing suit from the hot tub. I did not understand how this was supposed to be relaxing. Nobody explained to me where I was supposed to go, or wait to go to the next service. The pedicure I had was okay, but did not have any communication between my pedicurist and me; which made it very uncomfortable. She, also, tried to suggest something other than what I had picked, which made me feel that my choice was no good. I have not been back, and will not be back to Oasis Day Spa. Other than it being very clean, the service was horrible. I have never had such attitude from the front desk personell than I had at The Oasis Day Spa. Do not take these reviews for granted, they are absolutely true.
Today I treated myself to the Eclipse package at Oasis Day Spa. The massage and water room portion of this package was amazing. I had Leann for my massage and she did a fantastic job and gave off great energy throughout. I could have done without the pedicure/manicure portion of my day. The nail technicians were gossiping about a fight that had occurred prior to my appointment and seemed very catty with each other. My technician seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. This kind of ruined the experience for me. I paid for a day of pampering and got a technician that was more interested in how her co-worker was going to get away with a coffee break and how someone had gotten in a fight with someone else over cigarette breaks. If you're going to provide a relaxing environment it is important to keep in mind that your clients can pick up on a catty work environment. That being said... If I go back to Oasis it would be for a massage because up until my pedicure I was in a state of absolute bliss.
In a nutshell, most of our service providers were wonderful and if they worked anywhere else I'd highly recommend them. We were so put off and offended by one nail tech and her awful, hateful views that she expressed loud and clear and the way that a billing issue has been handled has made our experience at Oasis Day Spa nightmarish. And for all the owner’s comments on here about contacting her regarding problems, we have tried. She wouldn’t talk to us when we were there and she hasn't returned any phone calls. The details follow: I had Lucy for my massage and my mother had Sarah and we both had wonderful service from both of them. If they worked somewhere else we would happily use them again. Then there was the pedicure. My mother was seated across the room even though she told them that this was a mother/daughter day out when the appointment was booked. There was one other client and tech in the room, so I would have hoped they would have situated us closer together. My nail tech never introduced herself to me and she in fact said very little to me. The tech next to me and her client were the most obnoxious people I have ever had the misfortune of sitting next to in a nail salon. I know the client will do what she will, but I would have expected the tech to speak more softly and not be as offensive as she was. The tech carried on about how wonderful Madonna is and no one should have expected her to not have gun violence in her show regardless of what had happened in Colorado recently. She lambasted political candidates without regard to anyone around. She also was quiet offensive in talking about homosexuals in very derogatory, stereotypical terms. I was shocked. I am sure that she would laugh off what she said as only joking and that she didn't mean anything by it...but I was appalled. My main complaint about my tech is that the pedicure was supposed to be 55 minutes and she was finished with my service in 30 minutes. I was finished before my mother or the other client even though I was the last one started. When we paid we were not given a receipt until the credit card was run and then realized that we were charged $40 more than the price listed online. The manager who turns out to actually be the owner was called and we were finally told that when the appointment was confirmed my mother had upgraded the pedicure. When the staff person called to confirm our appointment my mother was asked if she wanted the lavender pedicure, but she thought that she was being asked if that was the lotion scent we wanted...nothing was said about the fact that it was an upgrade and would cost more. And then the fact that I didn't even get a basic pedicure service it was ridiculous that she was being charged more for what was an awful experience. The front desk staff agreed, but it was clear that they have no power in the process and Brenda owner/manager had no intention of coming out of her office to talk to us. We were told that we would be contacted the next day or the day after and that they were sure the problem would be resolved. We have heard nothing from them and my mother has called two different times and still has not had her calls returned. Our next steps will be to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the credit card company.
As a former business owner I would re-think the front desk staff!! If my reception team treated my customers as I was treated they would be looking for new employment. The 2 young ladies were absolutely RUDE with the greeting as well as the departure. Appointments on a Saturday. The massage therapist was nice but I have had better. My friend and I both had a terrible experience.
Meh- I had a manicure, which looks like something i would do with my left hand im a righty. i also had a body polish which was fine. the pedicure was terrible. The people at the nail place are not very nice. They talk about their personal baby mama and baby daddy drama while the customers are trying to chill. Also, the front desk people are not quality. they dont ever call back "ill check with my massage girl to see if she can work to accomodate you and your three guests, and ill call you back", they dont greet you when you walk in, and they dont make you feel like youre about to enter a state of zen. the sauna is pretty cool. Thanks for including that in the deal...
I love the massages every time I've gone however the last time I visited when I walked through the front door there were 2 young ladies sitting there but it took them 5 minutes to actually greet my sister and I. one was on her phone talking to, what sounded like, her boyfriend about dinner plans and the other was just staring at the desk not even the computer. the desk. when we were finally noticed, by the one who looked up from the desk, she got our names then just sat there until the other one got off of the phone and asked her to help us. odd.... why are there even 2 of them then? I would also advise not setting an appointment with the male masseur. My sister received a 60 minute massage from him and, even for a massage, he was touching a little too much and not wary about covering certain areas with a sheet. in fact he was touching a little too close for comfort on those areas without asking my sister if she was comfortable with it, also he spent so much time on those areas even though she specified she needed the most attention on her back he explained to her her he didnt have enough time to get to her neck/upper back area. in any other massage ive received the masseuse/masseur is mindful of the clients comfort level and asks them if they are comfortable being massaged in certain areas and is also mindful of keeping the clients covered in other areas. he also gave her very strange unsolicited advice on what kind of positions she should flex into to become more flexible. this piece of advice was just the icing on the cake and she said she will never ask for that particular masseur again. We both walked in with an open mind when it came to the gender of the person giving us a massage but we both walked out with a very uncomfortable feeling. My advice, from personal experience, always request a masseuse at Oasis.
Me and my sisters decided to take a day to visit here. We each got a mani-pedi, a body service and a facial using one of the package options that included lunch. It was a little difficult to schedule the 3 of us- so they worked on getting staffing there to accommodate us. It was very relaxing and clean. I couldn't believe we were in a city- it was quiet and really did feel like an Oasis. I let the facial provider know that I had very sensitive skin, and she made some adjustments to prevent any issues. My wrap was lovely and included a head and foot massage. The mani-pedi was nice. Me and my sisters talked alot and the technicians talked with us and it was very enjoyable. Lunch was tasty as well. I would go back- in fact just looked them up to do so with my niece as a birthday gift.
Why oh why did I not heed the bad reviews? I just moved to Arvada and this was a convenient location, so wanted to try it. Won't be returning EVER. 1. I went with a friend. Presumably, to be with my friend. My pedicurist was a chatty Cathy and keep inserting herself in our conversions. Continually! 2. My friend's pedicure smudged an hour after the pedicure. wondered at the time if she just didn't care for it properly, but she was adamant that they put it on too thick. 3. Within a week, several of my nails started to have the polish come off in one big clump. That is, all the nail polish just came off of many of my toes. I have never seen anything like that! Anyways, neither my friend nor I were impressed with this, and neither of us will ever return. I will make the drive up Wadsworth to Body & Sole, where I have gone for years and always been happy.
Glad to know this place exists! Did a girls' spa day here, and it was perfect for that. They could handle 5 of us easily. Everyone was pleased with their services, and people hung out in the spa/sauna when they weren't in a treatment. Best of all - it's truly affordable compared other spas in Colorado.
