Oasis State Park is a great get-away from town. The camp host & rangers do a fantastic job of keeping the park very clean. Some decent hiking trails and great views of the plains. The park is near a few cattle ranches so sometimes you do get the smell of "ranching" in the evenings. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Very quiet & peaceful park. We had a great 2 week stay and the park stayed fairly empty, even over the July 4th weekend. I think part of that might be their reservation site does not show their sites on the map feature and I know I almost missed the fact that they had sites available. Small trail but the dogs picked up lots of stickers on the trail. The pond was an enjoyable walk each morning/evening. We saw lots of cool little critters. Biggest down side, oh the FLIES! There is no enjoyable outside sitting without flies all over you, face and all. Letting the dogs out in the morning with only a moment of open door, lead to killing 50 flies in the RV. Otherwise great stay. =
If you're looking for a nice spot near Clovis, New Mexico, it doesn't get much better. Super new restrooms, garbage service yes, they come by and remove your personal trash can, nice big lots, and great views. There's not a lot to do here, but it truly does feel like an oasis. Follow along @theggoldenroad for more camping spots, places to go, and just a good time!
Beautiful camping spots with water and electricity in a pull thru spot at number 15. They have a covered picnic table and great views. Nice walk around the pond/oasis! Can hear coyotes in the distance.
We are full-time RVers and stayed here for two weeks. It has a great campground. Easy access to sites and well maintained. Great staff, great facilities, very convenient to Portales, Clovis, Canon Ari Force Base, and to highways for access to Santa Fe, Roswell, Albuquerque, Amarillo, and Lubbock. Highly recommend this park.
This is such a lovely park. My husband and I can't wait to go back. Bonus is you don't have to worry about the time you arrive. Also, for those who fish. You can do that.
Strong smell of manure from the dairy farm next door. Wouldn't advise drinking water until they find a way to filter out the nitrates, likely also from the large cattle operation. Not the park's fault of course. Otherwise a pleasant small state park. Bathrooms were very clean. Quiet and isolated. Great night sky and beautiful sunrise
Nice place for this warm mid fall. Restrooms and camping areas are clean. Flys can be a real issue. Days are great, sunsets are gorgeous. Portales and Clovis are less than 20 minutes away on decent roads. I have not tried fishing in the stocked pond, but it's very nice to have this area for an after dinner walk. I will be coming back.
Beautiful desert park. Great pull-thru sites. Some with 50 amp, also 30 amp and tent camping. Water to all sites. Covered picnic tables, grills and trash cans. Lake is pretty, some trees and benches. Restrooms with showers were clean and nice. Some trails for hiking. There are stickers, some on trials, so be careful with your pets. Would definitely stay again. We travel in a motorhome with a tow.
Nice small state park. Nice campground! Showers are different but nice and clean! Good deal for the price! We paid $14 a night, which included water and 50 amp electric. There is a dump station in the park as well.
