Long wait time. Nurses are rude to patients.. patients screaming for help.. they speed registration process to guarantee payment but don’t speed up your quality of care…awful experience overall. Will never return.
Currently in the emergency waiting room. Been waiting to be seen for 5 hours and counting while in excruciating pain from a cyst. Have to mention, I was just here Monday and had to return less than a week later, worse than I was the first day - because the doctor didn’t do the draining procedure correctly. This is ridiculous, the staff is understaffed today and I will be reporting where need be.
What a fantastic group of nurses in the oncology infusion suite. I was there early morning and they work happy to be helping patients. They celebrated a cancer patients last treatment by ringing the bell and playing the song he requested everyone cheered! Thank you to all the nurses & staff in the suite for their service and big hearts!
The hospital staff is great. Both my parents have been admitted here and been treated with respect. The only issue is that some of the workers are parking in the visitor parking area when they are not allowed. No parking for visitors. And if you try to park in there spots you run the risk of getting in trouble. And yes I did see the workers exit the parking area. 5 stars if you fix the parking issue.
It’s mind boggling the difference between Jersey Shore and Ocean University. We are talking 3rd world country conditions at OUMC. No electricity, ordering the right tests in nuke med for a GI Bleed and waiting 3 hours just to find out and switch it to CT where it should be. The nurse was great in attitude, the CT staff was also great! Susane and Dawn their names were. As soon as I mentioned patient experience, things started to move… but we left with no real resolution on what was happening on my elderly mother. Also, if you hear constant beeping, shut it up! No excuse to pass a room beeping for that long with a patient not hooked up correctly. No, I will not call anyone, because you already know this. It’s impossible not to know the state of this hospital! Walk around! You bought a helicopter, but there is no power in the ER? Never going here again, and I highly suggest you don’t either. 5 hours that should have taken 2, topps. Can’t even get an image disc because of no power.
I cannot say enough great things about the doctors and nursing staff on the fourth floor. Sam, Debbie, Lea, and the whole team made my hospital stay enjoyable. Which is never something I thought I would say. I will travel 2 hours south for that care anytime.
I LOVED THE NURSES. THE DOCTORS WERE AWESOME. However, I saw several specialist and was discharged without a diagnosis or answers, with my conditions worsening. Leadership staff need to be more compassionate and understanding of what a person needs as of a diagnosis and correct care. They released me with a brights red rash, low grade fever, low blood pressure and saying my Family Care did not approve staying for medication observation. They placed me on the same meds that did not work. Communication and conferences should have been done and the transfer to another hospital needed to be done. Home, suffering, and scared. My next trip is to Cooper.
Emergency rooms can be hectic the many many variables were well handled in the waiting room. Dr. EJ Wright was awesome getting the complaint together and trying to help. Nurse Isabel is special very polite and very knowledgeable about her responsibilities and skills. Thank
Lorraine, in outpatient is the absolute best! I tend to faint when I get blood work done and I told her and she said “no big deal, Let’s do it together” and she walked me down to the lab and she sat with me the whole time. She made me feel like I was part of her family and like I was one of her own. Hackensack Meridian health is very lucky to have her!!! Thank you so much Lorraine. Kindly, Josh Gale
My mom was admitted after staying in the ER for almost a day. There were nurses that were good but of course the bad ones always stood out. They lost my mom's shorts and underwear, could have been avoided if they just put all of her things in a bag. Diagnosis was a mess. At first it was gallbladder stones and gallbladder will be removed. Then it was an ulcer. Then other issues start to arise like blood pressure. Thank God one nurse decided to check her BP manually and it wasnt as high as how it was registering in the automatic one. They also bruised my mom's arms from trying to get her blood 3-5x. Eventhough this hospital is 7 mins away ftom where I live, the next time I have an emergency I will go to a different hospital. Nurses and CNA's in their ER lack compassion and just want to kick you out of there asap. I hope their standard of care gets better.
