This place reminds me of a cross between Kmart and a dollar store - though nothing is 'junk'. Lots of things from gardening supplies to lights to tools to snacks. I could have easily spent an hour just looking around, seeing things I never knew I wanted but at the price they were being offered for, maybe I did want it! I was on a mission to get drink mixers in a hurry so I couldn't explore as much as I wanted to. Check it out though. I'm going back to pick up some terra cotta pots at a very reasonable price and who knows what else I'll wind up buying. It seems to have everything. Yes, even clothing.
It's a great place to shop. Their vegan foods from around the globe are a particular favorite of mine. Their prices are better than other places for many of my routine purchases. There's a variety of vegan protein powder canisters, all plant based. I love to shop at OCJL every week. Edit: You get 5 stars. I spend too much time searching for the weekly specials and taking up valuable time of the staff. They have been very helpful. Upside of this search is that I find it to be a treasure hunt as new items are always added that I love to check out. the downside is that I feel like a pest, constantly asking for help. Too much time taken up for shopping.
OK, you got me. I am definitely a bargain shopper. I don’t usually go out of my way to go to Ocean State Job Lot but if I’m in the area, I do stop in. I assume that most of their merchandise are closeouts from other places, so you can find interesting things. I like that they often have health food brands at steeply discounted prices. The bathroom is quite clean.
Good variety of products at good prices. I buy my clothing belts here for $10 I like going through the food isles to see what they have. Found good items every visit
I love this store there are so many different things and great deals. People have always been friendly to me and helpful the store is clean and very organized. Ample parking and great service.
Great cookies by the registers. The Dare fudge chocolate crème sandwich cookies are out of this world. I’ve only found them at Ocean State Job lot and can’t find them anywhere else so I’m a regular shopper here now.
Really great department store with everything you can think of for a really great bargain. The experience was decent, I like to take my time when I shop. Sometimes I will return to my basket from another aisle after I’ve parked it if it’s getting full. I had the unfortunate experience of someone whether it was an employee or customer I am doubting the ladder, remove my basket and nowhere to be found. I looked down every aisle and when I had spoken to an employee he addressed my concern and returned with a basket with what seemed to be mine, but about 90% of the items I chose were gone, and about 5 or 6 new items were thrown in there. I was really disappointed in that. Otherwise I would’ve given 5 stars
Ocean State Job lot is the coolest or I have been in. We shopped there very often for the prices are extremely wonderful. They sell soup 2 nuts. They sell clothing, they sell food, etc, and I mean the whole yards. You cannot beat the prices for what you get.
Think people just got me hyped about going here so I was let down when I actually went. I was surprised by some great deals they had, but nothing extraordinary, at least not that I personally saw. Cool store to visit, though!
New resident to this area and first time visit to the store. Very impressed by the selection, organization, pricing, and friendly sales associates working the checkout. Great job and will be back again.
