Straight up trash. First of all the place was basically a nursing home. Secondly the doctor only sees you once a month. They need to be shut down. They are scamming insurance companies. No actual treatment takes place in this raggedy and sad excuse for a treatment center. I wish I could give them 0 starts. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
My aunt was sent here while needing treatment for her Parkinson's disease. I cannot say enough how positively awful this place was for both her on the inside and for us, her family, on the outside. We were not allowed to visit her, barely received updates, could never get through to the front desk, rude staff, the list goes on and on. I will be filing a formal complaint with whomever I possibly can. This place is a nightmare and if you have a relative who has been sent there, do everything you possibly can to get them out. The caseworker and ONE nurse were the only people who seemed to care or know what was going on. They are the only reason this place deserves even ONE star. The pitts.
One Flew Over the Coockoos Nest!!! This is most deplorable place. Smell of old urine 24/7. You’re treated worse than a caged animal. It’s all about $$$$. They were determined to punish me by making me stay when I had something to say about this place. Was continually told I had anxiety problems. When finally discharged, the 2 meds they tried to switch me to gave me bad migraine headaches and had me so doped up I couldn’t function. All the restrooms are locked 24/7. Patients were forced to walk the length of the building to use the only one hopefully open. Most had accidents by the time they finally got there. Whenever you asked for anything was made to wait at least 30 mins. Ms Lovey was very nice and helped as much as time would allow. She too is overwhelmed by the needs here. The Therapist was very sweet also. The Nurse techs are nice just so many challenges for them too! This place should be shut down and forced to update the outdated condition it’s in. Charity hospital was kept closed all behind $$$$. It is and was better. Not one handicap toilet in any restroom. Couldn’t give it a 0 star. More like a -0 Where is Health and Hospital board that allows this place to stay open? Guess I’ll be treated even worse if I ever get forced there again. Not a chance in this lifetime.
My brother contracted Covid-19 while in their care. He later passed away less than two weeks later. I found that Summer, one of the nurses was nice. However, many times I could not get through on the phone lines. Nor, could I leave a message. I called my brother a few times and they just were not very friendly or accommodating. I have no other Behavioral hospitals to compare them to, but I definitely cannot recommend them. Somebody there gave my brother Covid. He did not have it when he went in.
My father-in-law was transferred there from Ochsner medical, Wednesday. So far communication with the facility has been good. We had a conference call with the social worker and the sibling that went well and they have answered our questions. So far the experience has been positive. But we have a couple of weeks to find out. Neil and Bobbi Sanchez
De sure to check your family members heart and blood work BE SURE TO TAKE THEM TO A HEART DOCTOR AND FAMILY DR FIRST. OVERSEDATION IS BAD.
This place stopped picking up my mother in law and now they will not answer the phone, we need her meds refilled, they can’t even be bothered for that —
The tools my family member gained were indeed beneficial. The social worker running the group sessions was great. The EMDR therapy seemed to help. What is inexcusable is their discharge process. During the treatment, we were told that the patient would be connected with a psychiatrist after released from Oceans. That did not happen. We were told to google or check psychologytoday.com. If you know anything about mental illness, it makes it very difficult for the one suffering to navigate their own care. Over a month later, said patient has still not had luck finding a provider. Also, they punish their patients for not showing up to sessions regardless of how committed they have been throughout the program. The people running this are clearly out of touch with current research on treating mental illness.
This was a third world facility. Bathrooms always smelled like urine, showers we're discussing.. I will never want to be there again. There were ants in the rooms. I have 2dead flies on the floor when I got there and they where still there when I left. I air conditioner didn't work until one of the staff came in and kicked it then it went on. I was so depressed there. This place was a joke. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
An absolutely deplorable place. I gave it a one because I can't give it a 0. Dirty!!! Smelly!! Patients all looking like the living dead. No sense of hope or promise in any corner of the facility. If it were a kennel animal rights advocates would be on the property protesting. Do Not Allow Anyone to Send Your Loved Ones here. Pray that I get mine out ASAP.
