I went in looking for tablets and e-readers, which they had a dummy display for. I say dummy display, because they didn't bother keeping any of the devices powered. No matter. I didn't need to demo them. The items were similar to the ones I was hoping to find Kindle Fires, and they were on sale! So, since they don't keep any product on the floor and didn't have any detailed item descriptions ANYWHERE just short summaries that aren't very useful, I had to wait for a salesperson to show up somewhere on the sales floor... and flag them down... because god forbid someone want to buy something. I stood there... in the oddly dimly-lit section of store... hoping to see someone in an Office Depot shirt... somewhere... ANYWHERE. After about 15 minutes and flagging down two employees, I finally got someone to actually listen to what I was looking for: a more detailed item description or a product box because the box has exactly what I need on it. The employee scanned the item bar code and checked the inventory. I explained that I mainly wanted to know which versions they had, but she wasn't paying any attention to me. Just looking at her device. Then she walked off. Another employee came by, didn't acknowledge that I was there, scanned the same bar code, and also walked off. This happened a couple of times. An employee would come up, scan the bar code, and walk away. The second employee came back and told me that they didn't have the item I wanted in stock and probably weren't going to get it in stock because it was on clearance. Fine. That's understandable. "What about these other two items," I inquired. Again with the scanning... neither of the other two items were in stock, either. She then asked if I wanted to order them online. "Why would I order them online when there's nothing here to tell me which versions these are?" She scans the bar code again... reads off the dimensions, number of cores the processor has, which OS version, screen resolution, battery life... nothing I didn't already know. Nothing that wasn't on the tiny label with the product. I said thanks and left. In sum, the staff isn't knowledgeable or helpful I daresay they're likely not even trained, the store policy of making the employees refer to handheld devices for everything destroys the customer experience and should either be drastically revised or eliminated entirely, and displaying and promoting products there was a special offer for the Kindles on top of the sale that aren't in stock is just a waste of the customer's time, let alone the staff's time. Leaving the devices unpowered and letting the store's light fixtures to go out without replacement gives the store an atmosphere of "we're heading toward bankruptcy". Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't happened already, if this is par for the course. Avoid this store. Avoid this chain. If you have stock in Office Depot: sell it. These guys are on the way out with this kind of corporate attitude.
Got a nice deal on a laser printer and a solid 25% off my printing order. There weren't many people in the store, but I still had to wait, so I would suggest that more priority needs to be given to customers picking up pre-paid items.
My experience with the printing service was fast, easy, and my printouts looked amazing. As far as waiting in line for a cashier, I waited for a a couple minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was in line. Overall not a bad experience. Definitely a great place to get print output done.
Went in for a print job and decided to look at buying some Samsung printers. The associate didnt want to price match the printer I was looking at and his colleague tried to send me away without even considering the question we had which would have taken him 60 seconds. We were going to buy 12 for a new office installation. Will never consider them again due to our second class treatment.
I came trying to print a musical score on tabloid sized paper. Not only did the computer fail to open several formats on my flash drive, but the spiral binding machine only supports letter. The worker, however, was open to my suggestions and willing to try as many times it took to get the job done.
If you are in a hurry to get something done, like shipping a package for example ; take your time and do it yourself before you do anything here.. this place has been a headache I never expected & I don't even see anything promising with new management . 2 starred until I get some good news
Todd the manager took my call today. I was checking to see if they have an item in stock. He was EXTREMELY RUDE on the phone. My rating is Poor customer service of this individual. The store is fine. Just stay away from Todd.
Helped by associate Alex. He was very grumpy and rude. We were buying school supplies that were on sale. We asked him if this time of year back to school time was busy, and he said he didn't like it because customers would buy all kinds of things for just $5. The rest of the store looked aged and old. Signs had phones from the early 2000s.
Office Depot can be hit and miss if you're looking for something and can't find it...in terms of finding an employee to help you. It took me 10 minutes to get help. They had my item just not lots of visible employees
Why hasn't this company closed yet? This store is so sad. It's a good drop off point for shipping USPS/UPS ect
