Description

As the oldest elected office in our County, The Office of the Westchester County Clerk has served the residents of Westchester for over three hundred years by maintaining and preserving the official documents and records of our rich history. The Westchester County Clerk's primary responsibilities are as the official Recorder of Deeds for the County and as the Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts of Westchester County. Additional responsibilities include serving as an official United States Passport Office, administering the Oath of Allegiance to new citizens at Naturalization Ceremonies, and maintaining the Pistol License files of the County. I went here on Monday morning to apply for a passport, and it went quickly and smoothly! Definitely check the website for what you need to bring, hours of operation, and other info before you go. That's where I learned that you have to enter through the courthouse next door. Once inside there were several nice security guards along the way who asked if I needed directions and gave them to me. The area of the building in which the office is located seems to be undergoing a lot of renovations currently, so it doesn't look the greatest, but it still functions perfectly well. When I arrived at the office, there were a few people in there, and all the counter areas were in use, but a lady came around the counter to help me right away. She looked over my papers and informed me of the time it would take to get my passport, then directed me to a counter space that had opened up where she took care of everything. I think I was only there about five minutes. I couldn't have asked for more. :
Didn't get to experience the passport office service because it was a Wednesday and the county clerk doesn't open on a Wednesday. It doesn't list that on the website and I had the pleasure of being scolded by an employee pointing to the signs that state this. But how effective is that sign if I'm already there?
I have never had a better experience. I was dealing with the county clerk in White plains and they are truly wonderful. Never had more help and pleasantness from any other government office. I was getting a copy of my divorce papers and the entire office was superb. They all deserve a raise especially Patricia...
Slim blonde woman never gave me my change after I laid passport fees. Shouted my whole profession in front of other customers.
Went there to renew my passport, renew 2 minors and get a new minor passport...they were so helpful and patient. Did our photos and helped with applications. Not a long wait. We were surprised and thrilled with how easy and smooth the whole process was!
These are the tyrants that don't like cameras huh? Not a good look for your office hiding from first amendment auditors...YOU WORK FOR US!@@@
My husband and I had to come here multiple times and always a great experience. This time around it was for a permit and Patty in the licensing division was so helpful, kind and explained everything in detail to make sure we understood everything. The staff is so professional and kind not like some places where the employees are rude and act as if you owe them something or that your a bother. Thank you to the licensing division for all your help especially Patty.
I was in need of retreiving a certified copy of my name change petition and after originally going to the county clerk's office, where they could not locate it, I was told to go to a different floor. After speaking with the folks on the different floor, and feeling as if I was getting the run around, I was directed to the office that I really needed to go. There was no line and it was quick to process. There was also a line for passports, which goes by really fast. Either this place is super efficient or this is a hidden gem of a place. The people here were genuinely trying to help, which is always appreciated.
.As Ministers/ wedding Officiants we have sent licenses in to this office when we marry couples. We have successfully married Hundreds of Couples. We have found the employees in this office to be efficient, helpful and courteous. Let us know if we can be of further assistance, or if you have any questions about your wedding and this office. I was amazed with how quickly we got through with renewing our passports...no line, no wait!! Just have all of the paperwork needed for whatever you're doing...eg...renewing...applying 1st time...etc etc...you'll be in and out in no time! Bye bye Manhattan...hello White Plains! Superb service...
