My daughter was in ICU for 5 days and they are the most wonderful people I’ve ever met in my life!!! They were very accommodating and they took top notch care of my daughter. They treated our whole family with kindness and compassion. I will never ever forget them. They were truly a God send! There are just no words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
I am a caregiver for my elderly aunt and uncle. I live an hour away from the hospital, but I have had to take each of them to Marion General ER a total of four times since January They live near there. For my uncle, I ended up taking him to Riverside. There, they hospitalized him until they found the root cause. Before that, Marion General would just send him home. This is an 83 year old man with a pacemaker, mind you. For my aunt, they admitted her last month for known a-fib. Dr Shah treated her appropriately. Today, after three at-home falls in the past three days, while wearing a heart monitor no less, the ER doctor has exaggeratedly documented my aunt’s ability to move her leg, and also falsely stated that the social worker said I “wished her a nice life” and walked out. Dear Lord! Someone at Marion General will be amending that, or I will be contacting the medical board. Needless to say, I am sitting here reading her CT brain scan and am flabbergasted at what I am seeing, while my aunt was sent home because they found nothing wrong. My husband told me to take her to Riverside. I should’ve listened! The only reason I’m giving 2 stars are because of Dr Shah/his team, and the nursing/support staff.
Well I must first say I don’t post reviews very often and am thankful for having hospitals to support the communities and I show respect and honor to doctors and nurses committed to helping but after our experience with Marion general last night with the facility I will never go back. Ohio health facility management is largely failing here with the basic necessity of keeping ER rooms at the basic levels of functioning temperatures. My glasses were fogging from my breath, I had bad weather clothes on stocking cap, a old navy pullover and winter jacket I use for low temperature outside Just to stay warm. There was a refreshing change from the hallway to room but I was asked to keep the door closed for privacy reasons several times but I was trying to get heat into the room. And it was opened and closed numerous times. The thermostat was looked at by nurse but obviously was not functional. There was offers of warm blankets that was appreciated. If you are spending many hours awaiting CT and X-ray results this is not acceptable Ohio health. I am thankful for the help we received, I just ask for the wisdom to make better choices of facilities that I may be lead to in the future and wanted to share this for others. But If your comfortable being placed in a meat cooler go for it.
I was in the hospital 7 hours at Marion general I was seen ,when I got there, the lady that comes around asking for insurance &i and after that I seen no one tried helping ,chest pains very bad and stomach too for days. Redicious .they all need fired . Watching football instead of doing their jobs .I was in room 19 The ppl working on that side need to learn to be nurse/doctors.thanks for nothing, T.lucas
Went to the ER tonight with some alarming symptoms. When I arrived there was no one at the reception desk and one nurse in triage. There was two women being seen in triage and two more waiting. No one came to sign me in. Shortly after I got several other people came in. My husband had to keep telling people that I was next because no one signed anyone in. After several minutes of chaos I left without being seen. Absolutely ridiculous! I have never seen a more disorganized hospital in my life.
My wife went into the ER with a back injury. They didn't make sure she was comfortable, no one came in for hours until we went out and said something. They made her walk to her Xray, when she could barely walk. The room was dirty, had a blood gauze under the bed. I wish marion had 2 hospitals, the marion general hospital ER is pathetic, unprofessional and not up to par with other hospitals.
Staff was quick but considerate and the CNP for the physicians was informative and professional. She listened to my concerns and treated my pain as well as gave me resources moving forward.
I avoid this hospital at all costs regardless of living very very close. Tonight I absolutely had to utilize their “emergency” room as such and 1000% regret not taking the risk of going elsewhere. It’s really sad what the medical industry has come to and this place is a frontline example of it all. One star is REACHING they deserve none.
My dad has been hospitalized here for a week as of today and I felt like I needed to comment on how wonderful the staff is. Dawn is the most loving, kind nurse I have ever met. Her experience in memory care really shines through in our specific situation. The speech therapist, Emily is patient and gentle and truly cares about our dads recovery. Brett, Jerry, Laura, and so many others have shown us so much kindness and support. While I look forward to my dad leaving, I will truly miss the nursing staff at Marion general hospital.
I was there for 4 hrs at 6am saw 2 nurses 2 assistant drshad a jaw scan and a pain pill. I was the put in the hall because they needed the room. They wanted to do more tests that had nothing to do with my jaw pain. I said no and left. I pray I never have to go back there
