Okemos Barber Shop is not only the gem of Okemos, but in my opinion the gem of Meridian Township! Been coming here off and on my whole life and have always been treated like family. Covid definitely changed things for me and my son thank goodness started cutting my hair. Today was different and I had my old friend Vince whom I’ve known for years cut my hair. I feel like a new man literally. Vince is old school he takes his time, awesome conversation, goes overboard to make sure your hair is perfect and finishes with the old school warm shaving cream and straight razor on your neck line. For those of you looking for more than just your average franchise haircut do yourself a favor and patronize this gem. You owe yourself a great haircut, and the price is competitive to the run of the mill but so much better.Services: Razor cut

Chris was great. I brought in my 2 1/2 yr old grandson for his first professional hair cut. He doesn't like ppl touching his hair very much. Chris was fantastic with him, made him feel at ease and worked very well with him moving quite a bit. I gave him my phone which helped. I was very impressed and very pleased with the atmosphere, kindness and the patience of Chris and the staff. This place has been open for over 61 yrs which was a preference of mine cause I wanted a place with experience and I found it at the Okemos Barber shop. We even traveled 40 minutes to go there. Well worth the time and $ I spent for the hair cut & gas. Recommend for every male young and old to go there.

First visit: easily made same-day appointment by phone. In shop, all personnel were friendly. Curt gave me a fine haircut at a reasonable price. I will return. I am glad to support a business that has been around for generations.
Really like that they take appointments now. Curt is my go to person. Have been going to OBS for 45 years. I've had 3 different barbers! It is a barber shop. No apologies.
Have been going here for years. Always good service and conversation. Due to Covid they have been requiring appointments which is fine. When I called to make one I was told by my barber that he was not vaccinated and would not wear a mask. He knows I have MS and yet he cut my hair a month or so ago with an appointment but without a mask and without telling me he was unvaccinated. Even though I am fully vaccinated the Delta variant puts me at higher risk. It is unconscionable that he treated me without a warning. Dr. Jon Robison
