Another beautiful park where the grounds are well-maintained. Tombstones are falling apart, but they're also from the late 1700s. Lots of sketchy people, though. I probably wouldn't advise walking here alone at night.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Yet another beautiful spot to wander through. A few sketchy things going on in the cemetary, but I ignored them and paid attention to the old graves and paid my respects. You can spend a decent amount of time walking around the well-maintained grounds. Trees are old and if they could talk... Go during the day; night visits would be a hard no for me.
This is such a beautiful place to see. I love watching the squirrels and the trees are beautiful the benches are beautiful it looks more like a park then a burial ground it has such a historical background to it and it is very popular for locals to hangout and it's also very popular among tourist as well they love taking pictures and it's just a very beautiful all around place to go and see and it's very comforting.
The stream of water is spouting out from beaver fountain in Burial Cemetery with tallest woods forest in Saint John. Excellent relaxing park.
Been walking thru this gorgeous "park/garden"graveyard, lol for many years & have never seen fungai like this! It was growing out of one of the big, lush old trees near the Beaver Fountain . These ancient trees are 139-years-old! They were brought and planted here from the United States by the Loyalists to commemorate the centennial in 1883 - one hundred years after the city was founded in 1783 the first incorporated city of Canada -before there even was a Canada!
Gorgeous park that had some sketchy people in it. Great place to relax or take pictures during the day but I wouldn't walk thru the grass or go after dark.
While it has historic value to Canada, the Loyalist City Burial Grounds often appear to be mowed, trimmed and that's it for maintenance. The stones are falling apart/falling over. If you're looking for historic information, the Loyalist House would be a great spot to check out before coming here and within walking distance as would the NB Museum. If you're just looking for a quiet spot to relax which may seem odd in a burial ground but this has become a park/walking path as well, this may not be your place - between traffic, people and construction, the uptown area is hot, humid and noisy. Rockwood Park or Irving Nature Park may be more your style. Note: Because it's uptown, parking is ridiculously limited and normally, pay per hour.
These grounds hold a huge amount of history for the city of Saint John and New Brunswick. It is well taken care of with nice seating areas.
It's a very beautiful area and I love to walk through it in the summer and take lots of pictures
So lush & green! Pretty to walk thru, or relax by the "Beaver Pond" water fountain.
