Happened across this gem of a museum while traipsing the back way from Providence, Rhode Island. The staff was very friendly, even giving tips on genealogical research in the area. The exhibits are beautifully organized and displayed. It covers so many time periods, and offers something for everyone.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
I was here to do genealogical research. Bronson is a wealth of information and very willing to share. He was easy to talk to, never in a hurry, and answered questions fully. If you have ancestors from the area, this is a must stop. The museum is very well organized and displayed. If you plan to research here, be sure to make a reservation in advance.
What a cool place! There are so many things to see, learn, and do! We saw art, artifacts, and all kinds of memorabilia, and it kept us interested the entire time. Extra polite and helpful staff, too. The woman working at the door was a delight. Great place to visit!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Not a lot of bells and whistles, and definitely not a thrill ride, but very helpful woman at the front desk who was able to explain various connections to a local who I had brought there for their first timeVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$1–5
We had a great visit today! Neat exhibits that are very well displayed. Friendly staff. Well documented artifacts. There are activities for kids too. For a small museum they had an impressive collection. Worth a visit, especially if you are on NARM.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This was such a cool place to visit. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I brought my elderly mom & Aunt only to discover the majority of the collection is upstairs and there's no elevator. One member occupied them while I ran up to view the upstairs with another staffer. I learned a great deal. My favorite was the silver collection...it is the silver city after all. There is no charge, but a donation is greatly appreciated. Check it out.
Very nice and knowledgeable young man gave us his time and assistance today. No definite answer to our family quest..but we now have a new hint to follow up on. Lovely museum..thank you!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$1–5
