This museum has many enlarged old photos of Graham that I enjoyed looking at. The staff were friendly and helpful. The historic old post office building is well maintained and gives you a glimpse of the past.
This is a nice little museum located on the square in Graham. It has a nice collection of antiques and artifacts from the early days of Young County. There is also a whole wall full of old black and white pictures of downtown Graham, as well as other surrounding communities in the Young County Area. Since it is free admission, you have to at least take a look. The are also restrooms located inside the museum. The only negative I have was, I wish they had a few more things to look at. I was told they change out what is on display on a regular basis.
We looked everywhere for an affordable wedding venue and happened upon the OPOMAC. It’s a beautiful building full of history. The venue was big enough to accommodate our guests. Jayne was absolutely wonderful in assisting us for our wedding day. Mr. Grubbs and Bertha were also so kind and helpful. We would 100% recommend.
Was camping nearby in Possum Kingdom and came to town for the day. This is a cute little museum. There is currently an art exhibit over album cover art ranging from Pink Floyd to Led Zeppelin to local artists. The post office history was rather interesting as well. The lady at the front desk was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the exhibits on display. You could probably finish the whole museum in an hour and there is an attached gift/bookstore.
Very cute, it has many works of art. We held a wedding prep meal for my son and his wife. A nice place for conferences and celebrations.
Fantastic place to visit. You won't Be disappointed to go to this museum. You will learn a lot about some of the history in the area. The museum is open on certain days of the week. Investigate the schedule before you go.
Living in a small town not close to a lot of art can be rough but when you have a great art gallery and museum like the Old Post Office Museum you don't have to worry about such things. I love the museum/gallery because they have so much to offer in a small town. The curator of the museum is so sweet and caring and loves what she does. It has great history of Graham and beautiful art.
we were here for the Texas food truck cook off. I have to say if you think those trucks had good food you or your loved one cooking for you needs cooking lessons. I tried out the winner from last year and the items up for judging this year. Hands down I could have beaten them all with an electric skillet on a table top. I'm so glad I dont depend on that to make my living or for food to eat. It made me want to get a truck and show them how food is done.
The OPOMAC used to be. a wonderful place to visit, cool off, experience art, attend art shows, meet artists, gather with friends, and learn about art/artists, etc. Now, not so much as the staff is no longer experienced. Too bad.
Nice little museum and art exhibit. The curator was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
