Great small town restaurant. Owner and staff are really nice. Food is good. Prices are low for me. Bathrooms ar entice and clean but not accessible. Parking lot is not accessible either. But the atmosphere and cold. Cold Ac make this place a destination stop. Vegetarian options: Veggie fajitas are amazing Kid-friendliness: Seems kid friendly enough. Parking: Roughly paved. Not wheelchair accessible Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and restroom are not wheelchair accessible. Can’t remember about the door. Tables make pulling wheelchair up to easy.
The flat enchilladas were so devine that I couldn't even stop to take a picture until I was halfway through devouring them. I usually can't stomach restaurant enchiladas as they're usually dry and unflavored. I'm happy to report that this wasn't the case with these.Food: 5/5
If you are looking for good Mexican food, this is the place. I have never had a bad meal here. I really enjoy all of their food so much. Their tamales are so good and the red chili tamales with beef are so tender, it practically melts in your mouth. Their refried beans are so good, you can just tell that they make them in-house and they don't come from a can. The people working here are friendly and very quick to get you what you need. Prices are good here and well worth a driver to visit whether you live in Tucson or Phoenix!
Stopped in for the 1st time. I was welcomed when I entered the restaurant. The people are very friendly and the place was spotless. I ordered food to take home for lunch. The food came out quickly and it was still hot. The waiter gave me a 10% Veteran discount. My wife had a beef enchilada and steak carne asada and I had beef enchilada meal. The salsa was really good! All in all, we enjoyed everything about Old Pueblo. Recommend it to everyone!
Fantastic! All around. My husband just got out of the hospital and wanted a day out. We found this place and was very happy with it. Excellent service, great prices, great atmosphere. Very friendly customers. Food is great too. Definitely on our list to return.Food: 5/5
Lovely food and lovely staff! Highly recommend this place. Birria tacos were my favorite!
The service from the waitress was great, but in all my years I have never seen such sad food at any restaurant. There was no heart put in making my food. I asked for a chicken quesadilla, and they brought out cheese only. When I let them know, they asked for my plate back, put some chicken in it and gave it back to me like this. Margarita served in martini glass: they definitely need to put more care into what they are doing.
UPDATE FEB 15 2023. Not a good visit and won’t be going back. Used to love this restaurant. It’s changed. First, beware - if you use a credit card to pay you’ll be up charged 4% without being told. You’ll be asked by your server when paying if it’ll be cash or charge, but you’re not told why the question. The menu has a breakfast-all-day section, a dinner section, but no lunch section. We went for lunch. Had to order from the a-la-carte section. Prices don’t seem to have changed much since our last visit but good portions are smaller and the complementary chips and salsa were a disappointment. The salsa was served in a small mini cup that barely fit a chip and the chips were served room temp and had no flavor. There was dried salsa on the lip of the serving cup. I’m guessing it was filled earlier and placed into a cooler to be pulled when needed but it had a dirty appearance and should have been caught by the staff. The outside temp today was 50 with a brisk wind and the window at our table didn’t close completely and I had cold air blowing on me making the place colder than it already was. My wife let me taste her beef chimichanga. Bland and dry. $12.50. As I said, my portion was small - Beef Enchilada with rice and beans. $12. My menu had dried salsa on it - take a look at the pic I posted. All things considered, our experience today was at best mediocre. All said, business was brisk so maybe I’m just being too particular. My wife and I LOVE this restaurant! Our primary residence is in Colorado, but we have a second home in AZ half hour away and like to eat here when we're out for the day. The place is always packed, even today, July 25, with temperatures well over 100 degrees at 9:30 in the morning. Today's service was exceptional. My wife is an early riser. Me, not so much. When we arrived she was famished. I ordered the pork chop and eggs, she had a burrito. The manager owner? came over to talk about the order and said I should expect to wait an extra 10 minutes for my order because they do not serve under-cooked pork products. I was fine with that but asked that they not hold up my wife's order. No problem! She was served as soon as her order was ready. The manager-owner checked on us frequently. He was delightful and elevated our experience. And - without having to ask, our ice waters were served with a wedge of fresh lemon. Portions are large, prices are good. My pork chop was served with sliced apples - a perfect complement to pork. Our food was well-seasoned. My eggs were ordered "over-easy" and were perfectly cooked. But the eggs yolks sent me over the top - rich, deep yellow in color - a throw-back to my days as a kid when food was "fresher" and tastier. We'll be back!
We sat in the back bar area for the first time ever and it totally leveled-up our experience! Same great food, drinks and service but with a much more authentically Mexican vibe, including music! This place just keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to margaritas and karaoke someday!Food: 5/5
First time here. Came in and was greeted by a gentleman in a red shirt, he seated us asked us what we wanted for drinks took one drink order and dissappear to help the next people that came in.....about 6 mins later we were greeted again by a waitress asking to take our drinks, so we ordered. Came back with our drinks and proceeded to take our food order ok. All of our food came out at different times and I was basically done with dinner by time my wife got her dinner myself and another family member were already done with our food. I ended up ordering ice cream got it about 6 mins later friend ordered ice cream as well and got hers over 10mins later. Keep in mind the place had barely anyone in there. Food wasn't that great either even though I ordered chicken fried steak. Might try again but I think I'd wait until the LB cantina opens back up.
