My recent visit to the Oleta River Outdoor Center left me absolutely amazed. The experience I had there was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that this place is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the pristine, clean water. Whether I was kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply wading in the river, the water quality was exceptional. The feeling of being surrounded by such natural beauty and knowing that the environment is well-preserved only added to the sense of wonder. The Oleta River Outdoor Center truly provides a remarkable escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's a place where you can reconnect with nature, indulge in water activities, and bask in the serenity of your surroundings. If you're seeking an unforgettable outdoor experience with immaculate water, the Oleta River Outdoor Center is an absolute must-visit.
Kayaking is my new love! Oleta River is my absolute refuge. I look forward to unplugging and relaxing in my own personal water craft - aka rented KAYAK, Once a week. Its a magnificent workout too and far away from the fridge! I am trying to learn the paths of this seemingly endless river. Wow! The beaches are Cristal clear. The people are wonderful. The grounds are immaculate. As I said, this is my great escape within a 6 minute drive from my home. I freaking LOVE IT!!!!!
Very beautiful park. My partner and I rented a kayak and a stand up paddle and we passed through some beautiful areas. I would recommend a full day in this park. Unfortunately, we could only afford a few hours in there. They also have bike and hike trails.
This is a beautiful state park north of Miami. We came to kayak. Our first time, we couldn't go because it was too windy, so there was no kayaking. We had better luck the second time. We kayaked for about 90 minutes. There's a nice loop path through the mangroves that's really pretty. Part if it goes out into the harbor and to a beach. The beach is a nice place to stop and relax. The park itself is great. I'd recommend bringing your own kayaks if you have them though. It was easy to rent them, but when we tried to return them, the company makes you wait in the same line as people who are waiting to get a kayak. It was fine when we got there, but we waited almost an hour before we could leave and they had our credit card so we had no choice. The minimum rental time is 2 hours and it costs $45 for a tandem kayak. I wish they offered a 1 hour option. The kayak rental company isn't great, but the state park is beautiful.
This is one of my favorite places to kayak by myself AND bring groups. Working with staff here is so easy - they are great. However... beware of kayaking out to the island on the weekend, and especially a holiday weekend if you don't want to be sardined by a ton of boats. But such a beautiful kayak through the mangroves and walks through the hammock!
Great get a way. The staff is friendly and does a great job of moving the rental lines along in a prompt matter. Make sure you fill out the waivers before you go up to the cashier for a smooth process. If kayaking or paddleboarding you'll most likely see dolphins, manatees, a variety of birds, and maybe a gator or croc
I took my daughter here as a surprise, knowing full well she would never agree to go if she knew what we were going to do. Once we got out there she had a blast, we both did. So hard to motivate kids to put their screens down and be active these days. It was well organized, the guide did a great job keeping our group together and engaged. I enjoyed it so much that we just booked another visit to go back and do it again with some other friends joining us. I can't wait. Might also give the stand up paddle boards a try in the future. The sunset on the water and little beaches were very beautiful. Make sure to pack your bug spray for the mosquitos, and some sunblock and cold water, and it is a great way to spend Friday night.
Outstanding! Great park for all types of adventure. Water enthusiast you can kayak and paddle board. Mountain bikers enjoy some of the top terrain and trails in South Florida! Overall a great place for the family !
staff was super helpful and friendly! loved the experience. my first kayak adventure. the wait for kayaks and paddles was about 1.5 hours because of the busy holiday weekend, but it was well worth it. I had a blast. the price was very reasonable & much better than other places. exploring the mangroves was cool & there’s little beaches and islands you can pull up to to unwind during your rental. I’d recommend bringing sunscreen, wearing a bathing suit kayak lets water in, so you’ll get wet waterproof speaker for some tunes while you ride and definitely a small cooler or bag with snacks and drinks for when you get to the beaches I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoors experience. thanks again!!
On 7/8/23. Despite others review, I found them pretty good. The location is under construction and things are not all there but, the staff is managing it. My daughters instructor Jenny for paddleboard training is amazing. My girls are reserved but, they found her approachable, eazy going and very knowledgeable. She is a definite keeper for the operation. The early staff 2 men in the morning was patience and did not lose their cool when the equipment didn't work right. The park is a must. Go early or fight with the crowd.
