I have had the unique opportunity to travel to this location several times as part of the OPD Explorer Program. The officers who work in the stables are very knowledgeable and have dedicated themselves to these horses. Visiting this location allows for you to gain a “behind the scenes” representation on the living conditions and training conditions for the horses.

I like horses + the riders we saw were pleasing to the eye, as well! Seriously though, it was a very nice experience + educational. The beautiful horses, trying to stay cool, had one thing on their mind....chow time! Even though we were at least an hour before their meal time. We were even warned not to put fingers in through the bars, since they resemble carrots to the horses!
We had the opportunity to take a tour the OPD Horse Barn and what an amazing experience it was. Officer Marc Van Sickle went out of his way to answer all of our questions and offer some insight regarding the department and their importance in the community. Keep up the great work!!
I thought it was great. The officer that gave me the tour was nice and explained allot about the horses and their care. Hope to visit again.
This is the facility where the police stable their horses. The police officers, when they are there, will be happy to give you a tour of the facility. The horses are trained for police work and very hard-working. The officers treat their horses like they would another member of their team. That's because these horses are part of their team and they rely on them just as they would another police officer.
