Explorer meetings for the 2017 - 2018 school year will be held on a weekly basis at the Omaha Public Safety Training Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Law enforcement exploring gives young adults the opportunity to learn about the demands of a career in law enforcement through practical, hands-on experiences. Explorers also compete locally and nationally against other posts in areas such as traffic stops, building searches and arrest and volunteer hundreds of hours to community service projects annually.
Meetings are held every Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Center (11616 Rainwood Road). Meetings are conducted by Post advisers, with the assistance of senior explorers. During training scenarios, academy staff are on hand to provide explorers with the same training that Omaha Police Department recruits go through.
