What a pleasant surprise we found in this lil gem! The veggie plates were delicious. I loved the mac n cheese, fried okra, black eyed peas, and greens. The catfish tasted fresh and the sausage was good. Don't judge on how much I tasted! The cornbread was a bit dry and the yams REALLY should be candied, but small hiccups. They are new, so I hope they appreciate the feedback! I wish them well here in Cedar Hill!! The owner is a die-hard Cowboy fan, but I won't hold it against him ;
This was a great experience! The catfish was freshly fried and has become my favorite! The customer service and music was on point! This was a great dining experience. There are many menu options to choose from and within one week my family and I have visted twice! Wishing this business great success and looking forward to returning. Don’t take my word , just go see for yourself!
I would give it a ZERO if I could. This is the worse food I have ever tasted. The turkey was not done and the brisket was so tough it was like eating plywood. None of the food had any flavor or seasoning. All of the vegetables taste like it came straight out of a can. Cornbread was straight up JIFFY. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I’d rather eat Burger King than this food again. Rest assured this buisness won’t last.....
Food is not very good. Need to learn how to make cornbread that doesn't fall apart. The employees were yelling and using F word at there children and Customer Service totally sucked. They need to take Customer Service 101 at home or school. This was my first and last time to eat here and would not recommend it to anyone else. Don't waste your money and time here. Oh massively gross.
I rarely do reviews but I read them. The mac and cheese was so watery and not cheesey. The yams were very plain...literally probably from the can. The greens was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO salty. It was unreal how salty the greens were. The sliced brisket was ok but really nothing to write home about. The brisket probably tasted good because the rest of the food was horrible. The baked chicken was super plain that my toddler didn't even want to eat it. I was very disappointed.
No seasing in anything ! Please do not call the links barbecue worst I've tried. Cornbread definitely was not Jiffy gooy. Yams straight out of the can. "Not recommended, should you go; don't have high expectations" I guess, it's just hard to find good Soul Food in the Dallas area.
When you can't get to Big Mama's kitchen or table, this is the next best thing to it. I commend this establishment for trying to give you that home cooked meal.They should have named it. "Oh My Granny's Kitchen". Continue on OMG. No I'm not a employee, just like good cooking.
Waste of money and time! The food was nasty. I paid almost $13 for a plate. The portions are super small. Absolutely no seasoning in the food. The drink that was given to me was old. I was very disappointed. I won’t be going back. They need to really improve in the quality of their food. It taste nothing like soul food. Go at your own risk.
Ate here not good at all. Very small portions and no seasoning. I pass by the place all the time never busy now I know why! It’s not Soul Food at all. Please close this place and open up a better restaurant. Waste of space
I got the ribs, mashed potatoes, beans and macaroni and cheese. Everything I tried tasted like it had no seasoning and the ribs were really tough. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
