Welcome to my therapy practice! My name is Elizabeth Sockolov and I am a therapist trainee in Petaluma. I use the principles of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy to help people cope with many different disorders and life transitions.
I work one-on-one with people who are hoping to get support coping, changing, and growing. Clients who need assistance with any disorder or phase of life transition are welcome. I have particular experience working with older teens and young adults but I work clients of any age or developmental period.
I work collaboratively with clients in order to help them set goal and meet them. This often includes an exploration of what you want to change and then we work together to see how to make that happen. It is my belief that the client always knows themself best. I am here to listen, support, and assist but ultimately therapy is about empowering you to grow.
My therapy practice often includes mindfulness training and guided meditations for those who are interested. I find that using these practices helps clients to be more aware of their thoughts and have better ability to self-soothe. I also sometimes include tools like deep breathing and relaxation techniques for people coping with anxiety or sleep disturbances.
I am currently a therapist trainee under the supervision of Vanessa Eyen, LMFT 81027 at Credo High School.
